🌾 Today is National Agriculture Day and this year’s theme says it all: Stand with the Land. We’re proud to stand with the land and with the people who make Australian agriculture one of the world’s most resilient and innovative industries. Stand with the Land is more than words. It’s a commitment to the farmers, businesses and communities who keep regional Australia thriving. Despite the many challenges this year, Australian farmers continue to lead the way. They’re embracing smarter farming, new technology and adapting to drive growth. That resilience is why the sector is on track to hit a record $101.6 billion in production value this year. We asked our regional customers and team what standing by the land means to them. Watch the video and join the conversation. What does ‘Stand with the Land’ mean to you? Share your thoughts below. Now in its sixth year, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, in partnership with KangaNews, has conducted its annual survey of Australian fixed-income investors to capture perspectives on the key issues shaping sustainable finance. The 2025 survey highlights that investors are navigating a complex landscape. Respondents note that sustainability is increasingly embedded in credit analysis, while growing regulatory requirements, persistent data gaps, and emerging financing risks are reshaping what constitutes meaningful impact. If there is one overarching theme, it is that sustainable finance has matured into a mainstream component of Australian fixed income. We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the survey. Special appreciation goes to Murray Ackman (Pendal), Pauline Chrystal, CFA (Kapstream Capital), Melanie McAleese (Macquarie Asset Management), and Marayka Flaherty (QIC) for joining our CBA panel and sharing their valuable insights. Thanks also to the KangaNews team for their work in compiling the results and leading the roundtable discussion, and to Georgie Lee and Helen Craig for their contributions. Across regional Australia, resilience isn’t just a word - it’s a way of life. From family farms reinventing themselves through agri-tourism to businesses pivoting into new markets, adaptability is powering growth. Take Griffith, where the Piccolo family transformed a small farm into a premium wine and dining experience. Or Toowoomba’s PCP Solutions, which reinvented itself after the gas boom slowed, building a thriving plumbing business with more than 100 staff. This year’s National Ag Day theme, Stand with the Land, reminds us that resilience depends on standing together – supporting the people, businesses and communities that keep regional Australia thriving. At CBA, we’ve supported farmers and regional communities for more than a century, and we’ll continue backing their entrepreneurial spirit with practical support, long-term relationships and the capital needed to turn good ideas into lasting success.
