- 2. INTRODUCTION ❖ Product deliveryat customer convenience is an unavoidable factor in today's business environment. Not only the E-commerce websites but most offline retailers also adopted this strategy for providing a better consumer experience. ❖ The shipment and delivery are generally done by third-party service providers like DHL, FedEx, UPS, etc. ❖ Odoo ERP provides the option to configure different delivery methods with it. It will simplify operations like transportation mode selection, delivery cost calculation, shipment tracking, etc. ❖ Odoo delivery integration is available for DHL, FedEx, Temando, UPS, and USPS.
- 3. ❖ Goto Salesmodule > Enable Delivery methods > Save changes
- 4. ❖ Delivery methodsare handled by the Delivery costs module. Go to Apps and search for the module after removing the Apps filter.You can also install this after enable delivery methods.
- 5. ❖ There willbe available third party shipping methods,you can enable these according to your need.
- 6. ❖ You canaccess the shipping methods under Configuration > Shipping methods or by clicking on Shipping Methods from settings
- 7. ❖ You canclick the ‘Create’ button to create a new shipping method. You can also reuse the available methods and edit the data using the Edit button by selecting the respective method.
- 8. ❖ Mention theShipping Method name in the given field. ❖ From the drop-down menu, can assign a Provider to the delivery method. It may be Fixed Price or Based on Rule. ➢ Fixed Price option, the shipping cost will be the same throughout the shipping. ➢ Based on Rule option, as the title indicates the shipping cost will be based on some rules. ❖ Add Company name, Website, Delivery Product, and Margin on Rate. ❖ Additionally, you can enable the option Free if order amount is above when the order total amount is above or equal to this value, the customer benefits from free shipping.
- 9. ❖ If youare selecting the Provider as Fixed Price, the Fixed Price can be allocated under the Pricing tab
- 10. ❖ In othercases, if you set the provider as a Based on Rules, the shipping cost will also be based on rules. So the shipping cost can be set dynamically. The new Price rule can be configured using the Add a line option available in the Pricing tab.
- 11. ❖ The popupwindow can be used for creating new Pricing Rules. ❖ The condition can be the weight, volume, weight+volume, Price or Quantity. Likewise you can describe the configuration options of the shipping providers under this tab based upon the provider which you choose for the delivery.
- 12. ❖ Under theSales & Purchase tab, you can find the Payment Terms field. From the options, choose the Payment Terms. ❖ After the configurations, every new invoice you send to the customer will be automatically filled with the Payment Terms.
- 13. ❖ Under theDestination Availability tab, you can provide the destination availability details of this particular shipping method. ❖ The Countries, States, Zip From, Zip To can be defined. Providing these details will help you to filter delivery carriers according to the delivery address of your customer.
- 14. ❖ Under Descriptiontab, you can add descriptions for online quotations. This description will be displayed on eCommerce and on online quotations. ❖ The description can be on the product that you want to communicate to your customers. It will be copied to every Sale Order, Delivery Order, and Customer Invoice or Credit Note.
- 15. ❖ Now createa sale order and add product which is specified in shipping method.Click on ADD SHIPPING for adding shipping method.
- 16. ❖ Select theshipping method you created and the cost will automatically updated as per the rule > ADD
- 17. ❖ And herewe can see the updations in order lines after adding shipping method
- 18. ❖ As perthe rule, there will be no shipping cost if the amount greater than 500.Let’s check that.
- 19. ❖ After clickingon ADD SHIPPING.We will get a prompt message about our rule.
- 20. ❖ After clickingon ADD button the order line will look like this.
