LGBTQ+ Mentoring for Industry Professionals

About us

The Pride Professionals LGBTQ+ Mentoring Program is the first of its kind in Western Australia and was created in response to an identified demand to provide formal mentoring for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or LGBTQ+ ally early career professionals working in diverse and inclusive industries. Pride Professionals is a WA local business facilitating the LGBTQ+ Mentoring Program. The LGBTQ+ Mentoring Program will empower, support and promote lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or LGBTQ+ ally early career professionals to reach their career aspirations and goals. The LGBTQ+ Mentoring Program aims to develop a structured, sustainable mentoring process that supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or LGBTQ+ ally mentees through career guidance and direction by sharing mentor/mentee experiences, developing goals and forging exceptional mentoring relationships beyond the program’s duration.

  • 🌈 We recently came together for the third event of the 2025 Melbourne Pride Professionals Mentoring Program! 🌈   A heartfelt thank you to Veriu Group | Veriu Hotels & Suites | Punthill Apartment Hotels, our host and event sponsor for the night. We deeply value Veriu's ongoing dedication to creating inclusive spaces where people of all identities feel respected, empowered and truly seen. Pride Professionals are grateful for this continued partnership and inspired by Veriu's commitment to visible LGBTQ+ mentoring and leadership.   We were delighted to welcome Emma O'Donnell, a long-standing member of the Pride Professionals Alumni Committee, as our host for the evening. Emma has proudly supported Pride Professionals since 2020 across our Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne programs, and continues to remain a dedicated advocate in shaping workplaces to be inclusive and diverse. Emma reflected on the value of being intentional in one's career pathway and within organisations, sharing insights from her personal journey of finding intention and key takeaways from her experience in the program.   We also had the pleasure of hearing from Helen Adams and Hannah Docherty, founders of Lesbirun, an award-winning community hub offering free weekly runs, social events and hikes across Melbourne. Their story was genuinely inspiring: what began in 2024 as a small group of lonely lesbians has now grown into a thriving, diverse community of hundreds. Their vision highlights the importance of building safe, visible and empowering spaces for the queer community. All while getting active and having fun! To learn more or get involved, visit their Instagram https://lnkd.in/gs5qm5un   To everyone who joined us, thank you for another fantastic evening. We can't wait to come together again next month for the final program event to celebrate the achievements of our 2025 Melbourne cohort. #PrideProfessionals #LGBTQI+ #mentoring #leadership #growth #mentorship #diversity #workplacediversity

  • 🌈 We recently came together for the second event of the 2025 Melbourne Pride Professionals Mentoring Program! 🌈 A huge thank you to JLL for being our generous event sponsor and host. JLL continues to be a cornerstone supporter of Pride Professionals across Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane, showing their long-standing commitment to visible LGBTQ+ leadership and mentoring. Their continued partnership highlights what is possible when organisations step up to drive meaningful change. The evening was hosted by the wonderful Tom Durkin, Associate (Pro Bono) at Moray & Agnew Lawyers and one of our valued Alumni Committee members. Tom reflected on allyship and the power of programs like Pride Professionals to create workplaces where LGBTQ+ professionals feel supported, empowered and safe. We were also joined by Kara Collins, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Lead for Australia and New Zealand, and Paul Flanigan, Head of Retail Lease Management and Australia Lead of JLL Pride. Both have been incredible mentors supporting the Melbourne program since its inception. Paul shared his personal story with honesty and heart, reflecting on what it means to bring your whole self to work. A special thank you to our guest speaker, Melissa Williams from Positive Attitude Inc., who shared her lived experience and the inspiring work of Positive Attitude. Since 1983, this volunteer-run non-profit organisation has supported people living with HIV and their LGBTIQA+ friends and allies. • 🌈 Brisbane, That’s a Wrap! 🎉   We recently wrapped up the 2025 Brisbane Pride Professionals Mentoring Program – and what a night it was! The celebration was filled with inspiring stories, heartfelt reflections, and a real sense of community. Check out the photos here: https://lnkd.in/gKg7xNeV   A huge thank you to Cotality, our generous event sponsor and host for the evening. A special shout-out to Kelly Houston, one of our program alumni, who performed on the night and made the celebration even more memorable.   The evening opened with a warm welcome from Stephen Thompson, Director – Head of Construction at Cotality – and one of our valued mentors – setting the tone for connection and celebration. Hayden Forsyth, from our Alumni Committee, encouraged us all to reflect on the importance of programs like this in helping LGBTQ+ professionals feel supported, empowered, and ready to thrive.    Our 2025 participants, Amy Copley (mentor) and James Dougherty (mentee), shared their journeys through this year’s program, speaking to the growth, confidence, and connection that comes from having someone in your corner.   We are incredibly grateful to our 2025 Brisbane program sponsors and partners – BHP, Rio Tinto, Thiess, JLL, and Cotality – whose commitment and generosity continue to make a real difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ professionals.   To our mentors, mentees, and the wider Brisbane Pride Professionals community: thank you. Your energy, courage, and willingness to share your stories have helped build a space where people can connect, grow, and thrive together.   While the third Brisbane program has officially wrapped, this is just the beginning. Our Shine State Pride Professionals community is growing stronger every year – and we can’t wait to welcome new faces when we launch again in 2026! #PrideProfessional #LGBTQIworkplace #diversity #mentoring
