Today we’re recognising a special service milestone for Officeworks Rutherford team member, Scott Parsons, who is celebrating 35 years with Wesfarmers 🥳 A casual job at Kmart Australia Limited over the busy Christmas period back in 1990, sparked his passion for retail. Scott spent the next 20 years growing his career at Kmart, leading and working with a number of different stores across the Newcastle and Central Coast area – his family by his side. In 2010, he made the switch to Officeworks and has loved being part of many different store teams, including Rutherford. Scott reflects on the last 15 years in his Blues: “The team is what gets me out of bed in the morning. They make work enjoyable and we're all so genuine in our support for each other. I love learning and taking on different responsibilities – which I’m fortunate to have had many opportunities to do so over the years.” Officeworks Area Manager, Matthew Spooner, said “Scott goes over and above to look after the team in the Rutherford store and in the wider local community. The love and respect the team has for Scott is on both a professional and personal level and we can’t thank him enough for all he’s contributed to Officeworks over the last 15 years.” Big thanks and congratulations to you, Scott Parsons👏 #Officeworks 💙

  • At Officeworks, the safety and wellbeing of our team and customers is our top priority. As a family-friendly destination, we want everyone to feel safe in our stores.   With Victoria recording the country’s highest levels of retail crime, we welcome the Victorian Government’s commitment to Workplace Protection Orders (WPOs) and new laws to strengthen penalties for assaults, abuse and harassment against retail workers – announced last week.   Our Head of Safety, Health & Wellbeing, Travis Callander, said: “The safety of our team and customers is our highest priority. As a business, we continue to take proactive steps to address this critical issue, including the recent national roll out of a 'Threatening Situations' learning module and workplace security technology such as body cameras and Duress watches.   “While we are pleased with last week’s announcement, we will continue to work with Australian Retailers Association (ARA) as part of its Retail Crime Committee, as well as our parent company Wesfarmers, Victorian Lord Mayor Nick Reece and Police nationwide to support our team to feel safe at work.” #Officeworks 💙 Brett Kelly Alexander L. On Wednesday, some of our team members were proud to cheer on players at the Clontarf Foundation State of Origin AFL Final at Victoria Park in Melbourne.   It forms part of a broader Clontarf Foundation AFL Carnival event that included an Executive Luncheon and Inner Sanctum Experience - aimed at bringing together partners, alumni and guest speakers to celebrate teamwork, resilience, and community.   Officeworks Chief People Officer, Brad Ellis, attended and shared: “The event was a fantastic opportunity to witness the impact of Clontarf Foundation’s work both on and off the field, hear stories of Clontarf alumni firsthand and identify future opportunities for collaboration and community impact.   “We're proud to have partnered with Clontarf Foundation through Wesfarmers since 2001 and support its incredible work to boost meaningful employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. "As of today, 30 Clontarf Academy participants and alumni are currently employed in Officeworks stores across the country. We’re committed to increasing this number as we deepen our partnership in the future."   Read more about Clontarf Foundation here 🔗 https://clontarf.org.au/ #Officeworks 🖤💛❤️💙🤍💚 Brad Ellis Fiona Lawrie Brett Metherall Cimon Smith Ricky Jones Pete Ballard Bridget Daly Cameron Ilett Ben Djuve Nick Jenkins Mark Riley

  • We’re proud to share a major milestone in our Restoring Australia journey: we've planted our 2 millionth plant! In 2017, Officeworks set a goal to plant two plants for every one used, based on the weight of paper-based products purchased by our customers. Since then, in partnership with Greening Australia and with the support of our supplier partners, we've restored almost 2,000 hectares of land across 6 states, creating habitat and supporting land holders and their local communities. This achievement reflects the incredible collective impact of our customers, team members, and partners. 🎥 Watch our story below to see the journey! #Officeworks 💙 #GreeningAustralia #RestoringAustralia Fiona Lawrie Heather Campbell Alex White Rhys Blakemore

  • Our parent company, Wesfarmers, held its annual AGM last Thursday in Perth. It's one of the highest attended AGMs in Australia, drawing a crowd of around 1,200 shareholders. Officeworks joined other Wesfarmers divisions for the exhibition component, with a booth that brought our technology range to life with featured products and demonstrations, our Geeks2U service and giveaways. A huge thank you to our team members who made it all happen and those that represented Officeworks on the day - Karen Harrison, Pete Ballard, Phil Alex and Jeremy Le (pictured below with our Managing Director John Gualtieri). Earlier this month, we joined forces with other Wesfarmers divisions - Kmart Australia Limited, Wesfarmers Health and Bunnings - to get involved in the 2025 NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout, held in Tamworth on Gomeroi Country. As well as providing practical support through sponsorship and product donations, it was a great opportunity for the team to strengthen their relationships with the Indigenous community and promote employment pathways across the Group. With more than 30,000 people attending the four-day event, the ‘Koori Knockout’ is one of the largest Aboriginal community-led gatherings in Australia and is often called a modern-day Corroboree that connects families, culture and community through rugby league. Thanks to 👣Kevin Bloomfield👣 from Kmart Australia Limited, Shannon Dzadough and Max C. from Bunnings and Pete Ballard from Officeworks for representing Wesfarmers. #Officeworks 🖤💛♥️
