Bringing the best of global beauty to our community takes more than great products, it takes great logistics. That’s why we’re scaling up with a new National Distribution Centre. When you’re moving millions of shades, scents and serums across Australia and New Zealand, every detail matters, from the way we store products to how they find their way to you. Our new facility will help us do it better, faster and more sustainably. We’re so grateful to be working with our leading industry partners Melbourne Airport Property, Donald Cant Watts Corke (DCWC), Texco Construction, KNAPP AUSTRALIA and TMX Transform to bring it all to life by 2027. It might not be glamorous (yet), but it’s a big part of what keeps MECCA moving behind the scenes.
About us
Since our very first day in 1997, our purpose has been to enable our customers to feel and look their best by offering them the world’s best line-up of beauty and skin-care brands (+ more), coupled with exceptional service. Fast forward to today, and we have over 5,000 MECCA team members across 100+ retail stores throughout Australia and New Zealand, a rapidly growing online business, two Distribution Centres, and a bustling Support Centre in the heart of Melbourne working to deliver on our purpose every single day. Our ongoing growth is fuelled by opening new stores and reaching new customers, launching new products, and harnessing the latest technology to constantly innovate and evolve our concepts, experiences, and service offerings. Whether you join MECCA in one of our Retail stores, our Support Centre or our Distribution Centre (DC), you will be an integral part of the MECCA family. Our Retail Store teams are known for their energy, passion and expertise; bringing MECCA to life and helping us deliver on our purpose across four unique concepts – MECCA Cosmetica, MECCA Maxima, MECCA and our online stores (mecca.com.au and meccabeauty.co.nz). Working in our Support Centre will give you the opportunity to be part of high-impact, cross-functional projects, where you will get to immerse yourself in cutting-edge technologies and market-leading innovations. Not only do we work with over 150 of the best global beauty brands, we also develop, produce and distribute MECCA’s very own signature line of products. From supply chain to digital design, from software development to strategy, and everything in between, we are looking for diverse people from all backgrounds to continually challenge our way of thinking. Last but certainly not least, our rapidly expanding DC teams are the backbone of our operations and are key to the delivery of a seamless customer experience through online fulfillment and ensuring our stores have the right products at the right time.

At MECCA, we take gifting seriously. From choosing the perfect products, wrapping them with love and adding those finishing touches - it brings us so much joy. But, we also know that finding the perfect gifts for large teams, clients and big events isn’t always a joyful experience. That’s where we come in - our not-so-corporate gifting service takes the stress out of the season. Choose from carefully curated edits or let us create something special, just for your group. We’ll handle the details, you just sit back and enjoy the most wonderful time of the year. If gifting is on your to-do list, reach out to us here: https://lnkd.in/gHexBVR6

Big things come in small (and beautiful) packages, so we’re thrilled to see our bespoke MECCA Sample Pots recognised with a Gold Award at the Australian Good Design Awards! Designed and made in Australia in collaboration with Vert Design, these mighty little pots prove that even the smallest details can make a big impact – made from recycled material and thoughtfully crafted for reuse. We’ve been trialling these in a handful of our stores over the past six months, and our teams and customers are loving the new design. We can’t wait to roll them out across our full network early next year!
We’re proud to announce that the MECCA Brands Product Sample Pots has been awarded Gold at the Good Design Australia Awards ⭐ Vert Design developed a bespoke sample pot for MECCA that reflects their values, strong visual identity, and commitment to sustainability. The design enhances the customer experience both in-store and at home, capturing MECCA’s bold aesthetic while remaining neutral to suit a wide range of products. Made from 100% recycled materials, the pots are durable, reusable, and improve functionality and ease of use. Locally produced in Sydney with Best Practice Plastics MECCA product sample pots are already being used in select stores and will roll out to all stores across Australia and New Zealand in January 2026. This International Day of the Girl, we proudly announced a series of bold, long-term commitments to accelerate progress towards gender equality through MECCA M-POWER. This includes a $10 million, 10-year partnership with Co-Impact’s Gender Fund, which brings together local changemakers and funders to scale women-led solutions transforming systems in health, education and economic opportunities. We also launched the inaugural MECCA Prize – an annual award recognising people and projects creating lasting impact by reshaping industries and inspiring new possibilities for the next generation. Our first, very deserving recipients are: - Assoc. Prof. Helen Frazer, pioneering AI innovation to improve early breast-cancer detection. - Dr. Stacy T. Sims, PhD, rewriting the science of women’s physiology and empowering girls through her Next Gen program. - Katy Hessel, rewriting women into art history and reimagining beauty as culture. Together, these new initiatives take MECCA’s commitment in driving change for women and girls to $35 million – reflecting our belief that beauty can be a powerful force to shift systems, challenge stereotypes and elevate new ideas. We’ll continue to work closely with the MECCA Prize recipients throughout the year to shine a spotlight on their work, so stay tuned as we share more about the impact they’re creating! As part of the MECCA Archive, we’re proud to share The Story of MECCA – a celebration of the people and moments that made it all possible – and the spirit that continues to drive us forward. It all began in Melbourne with a 27-year-old and a dream to embolden others through the power of beauty. Almost three decades on, that dream has grown into a movement and community defined by courage, creativity, and purpose - redefining what the beauty industry can be. Today, we’re proud to launch The MECCA Archive a growing collection of beauty’s defining cultural moments and our most ambitious purpose-led initiative to date. Given our ongoing mission to advance gender equality, when we discovered that less than 1% of recorded history is about women, it revealed a gap that felt impossible to ignore. The Archive has been created to write women’s voices back in, through beauty, a language that has always carried women’s stories forward. The MECCA Archive is not about preserving products or campaigns, it’s about sharing perspectives and shifting the conversation, celebrating how far we’ve come and recognising how much there is still to do. More than a campaign, it shows beauty is not trivial, but part of our culture, our identity, and our future. The MECCA Archive is there to be explored while inviting our community to share their beauty history, rituals and moments, so they can be preserved for generations to come. "Our dream is that decades from now, a girl opens the MECCA Archive and sees herself in it – what mattered to us, what we created, and what we changed together." - Jo Horgan Explore the MECCA Archive: https://lnkd.in/gsEYrgg7 Read more here: https://shorturl.at/3eUmV

As we welcome our Retail team members to their H2 Leadership Conference this week, we’re reflecting on one of our favourite moments: the MECCA clap-in. This time-honoured tradition might look a little different each year, but the heart of it never changes; it’s all about celebrating the incredible people who bring our stores to life every single day. So, what’s it like to experience the clap-in for the very first time? Here’s Dave’s take…

At MECCA, 94% of our team of around 7,000 are women. Many are in their first jobs, supporting families and planning for the future. Financial literacy is one of the most powerful, but often overlooked levers towards gender equality. It isn’t just about dollars and cents, it’s a pathway to independence, security and opportunity. That's why we created MECCAnomics - a first-of-its-kind financial wellbeing program for our team. And we invited Scott Pape, the Barefoot Investor and one of the most respected voices in financial literacy in the country, to help us create its first chapter: ten short, sharp lessons and a guided journal to help build financial confidence from the ground up. It's practical, bite-sized and has actionable guidance for everyday life. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gaQd_jR2

MECCA Bourke Street has officially opened its doors!! “Nearly 28 years in the making, MECCA Bourke Street is our love letter to Melbourne, to beauty and to our incredible community. Shaped by thousands of conversations with our customers, team members and partners, we’ve reimagined what beauty and retail can be. “To us, this is more than a store. It is a stage for our incredible brands to be seen and discovered. It’s a space for innovation, where we ask, ‘what if?’ and ‘why not?’. A place to learn and play with the very best in global beauty. A destination for local makers, artists and the extraordinary women who are shaping the future of this industry. “We’ve obsessed over every detail to create a space that doesn’t just look beautiful, it feels beautiful, helping our customers look, feel and be their best. “We can’t wait to welcome you to our brand-new beauty wonderland!” – Jo Horgan, Founder and co-CEO https://lnkd.in/gsDbzZbm

MECCA Bourke Street is coming. A vision of beauty like you’ve never seen before, where brands, products, services and experiences come together across three larger-than-life levels. Spanning 4,000sqm across three levels, this is not just a new flagship… it’s the MECCA of all MECCAs. Right in the heart of Melbourne, on the iconic site of the former Cole’s Book Arcade, MECCA Bourke Street pushes boundaries and reimagines beauty retail. Think: 80+ services, 200+ of the world’s best beauty brands, a 200sqm MECCAversity auditorium, clinical skin treatments, holistic wellness, fragrance scentsorium and gifting mezzanine, plus a café and a living gallery, all under one roof. And over 300 of our passionate team members will be there to bring it all to life. This space is a love letter to experience, creativity and connection. It is a thank you to our incredible community and an invitation to future collaborators, creatives and changemakers: we built this place with you in mind. MECCA Bourke Street is not only a retail landmark, but a launchpad for ideas, innovation, and impact. The future of beauty opens 8 August, at 299 Bourke Street.
