Wesfarmers — a diversified corporation From its origins in 1914 as a Western Australian farmers' cooperative, Wesfarmers has grown into one of Australia's largest listed companies. With headquarters in Western Australia, its diverse business operations cover: home improvement and outdoor living; apparel and general merchandise; office supplies; and an Industrials division with businesses in chemicals, energy and fertilisers, and industrial and safety products. This year, we’re honoured to contribute $1.72 million to Telethon and the Wesfarmers Centre of Vaccines and Infectious Diseases at the The Kids Research Institute Australia. Infectious diseases remain a leading cause of hospitalisation for young children in Western Australia. The researchers at The Kids are driving transformative change, developing vaccines, and improving antibiotic treatments. Their goal is to improve the health and happiness of children and young people.
