Here's an outstanding result for New Zealand racing fans and punters, with the rollout of a new tracking and timing system for the vast majority of thoroughbred racing and harness racing meetings in New Zealand. In a partnership between Entain Australia & New Zealand, TAB NZ, and tripleSdata Pty Ltd, the next-generation 4G GPS-RTK system is being implemented across 30 racecourses nationwide, covering more than 90 percent of all race meetings across the thoroughbred racing and harness racing codes in New Zealand. The new system allows racing fans and Trackside viewers to see their horse’s exact position and speed in real time, with live race maps and on-screen graphics displayed on Trackside TV and TAB digital platforms. Our Trackside viewers enjoyed the enhanced graphics across Ellerslie, Kaikoura, Riccarton and Addington over recent weeks, meaning four of the 30 tracks are now operational with the enhanced technology, and more are coming online in the coming weeks. In addition to transforming live race coverage, the new GPS-RTK system will deliver comprehensive post-race sectional and timing data, offering racing lovers unprecedented insight into race performance. From precise speed and positioning information to detailed sectional breakdowns, punters and fans alike will be able to see exactly how each race unfolded and how every runner performed throughout. This advanced data will soon be available via trackside.co.nz, providing a powerful new tool for form analysis and enhancing the overall racing experience. This week, New Zealand punters were the winners when we announced the expansion of Minimum Bet Limits (MBLs) for customers across our TAB and betcha brands. Minimum Bet Limits (MBLs) mean a punter is able to bet to win at least a certain amount on a betting option. The voluntary MBLs announced this week go above and beyond the limits in other jurisdictions and, in the case of sports, provide a new level of consumer protection in the sports betting industry. The major gamechanger is for sports punters. The most popular sports – football, basketball, rugby union, rugby league and more – are now covered by TAB’s Punters Promise and the new ‘betcha guarantee’ with customers able to bet to win $1,000 in the top two or three betting options in the most popular tournaments, leagues and international fixtures.    For example, a TAB or betcha customer can bet $400 on their favourite Warriors player to score a try at odds of $3.50 returning $1,400 – a $1,000 profit on their $400 bet. The sports, tournaments and markets on offer with the Punters Promise and betcha guarantee cover 75% of sports turnover in New Zealand. On Punters Promise, MBLs in NZ racing have lifted from $2,000 to $5,000 for Saturday thoroughbreds and Friday night harness racing, as well as $2,000 for Future Win bets on major New Zealand races.  MBLs are also now in place on Australian racing. These new and expanded initiatives – alongside our pledge to provide the same fair odds in New Zealand that we have on our brands in the highly competitive Australian betting market – shows our commitment to striking a fair balance between the punter and the operator.
