The document presents a design for a circular microstrip antenna enhanced by a dielectric double negative (DNG) split ring resonator radome, resulting in a bandwidth increase from 220 MHz to 430 MHz and a gain improvement from 1.84 dBi to 3.87 dBi over the frequency range of 5.2 GHz to 6.4 GHz. This design effectively addresses the narrow bandwidth and low gain typical of microstrip antennas while also protecting them from environmental effects. The study demonstrates the potential of DNG metamaterials in enhancing antenna performance and opens opportunities for their application in various communication systems.
