This week, around 50 Coles team members from stores on NSW’s flood-affected Mid North Coast came together for a special presentation in Taree from Hugh van Cuylenburg, founder of The Resilience Project (TRP). Hugh shared tips and strategies to support mental health and wellbeing, focusing on the principles of GEM - Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness, as the team members continue to rebuild from the devastating Mid North Coast floods in May. Additionally, Angela Konstantopoulos, General Manager Health, Safety and Wellbeing joined Hugh in a school assembly at St Josephs School Wingham, to announce Coles will be funding four schools in NSW's Mid North Coast region to participate in the TRP’s School Wellbeing Program from term one next year. Coles has been a proud partner of The Resilience Project since 2020, providing positive mental health resources, training and programs to over 120,000 team members as well as to students and teachers in 50 schools across Australia. Such an inspiring initiative by Coles! 🌟 Supporting team members in flood-affected regions with practical tools for mental health and wellbeing is truly impactful. Hugh’s focus on Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness couldn’t be more relevant for communities rebuilding after such devastation. It’s also wonderful to see Coles extending this support to local schools through The Resilience Project’s Wellbeing Program. Investing in young people and their mental resilience creates long-term positive change for the whole community. Proud to see organisations leading with care, compassion, and real action. 🙌
