Governor Hobbs visited the 911 Dispatch Center at the Chandler Police Department to celebrate the release of the Next Generation 911 System. The system has made it easier for emergency responders to zero in on your location within 3 feet when contacting 911 from your cell phone, allows for people to text 911 if they’re in a situation where they can’t speak, or don’t have good service or battery life, and more. During the Governor’s visit, she engaged in the briefing on the system from the ADOA project team, toured the facility, and was able to listen in on calls coming in live with a call taker.
