  • Members of our Brisbane team recently attended UDIA Queensland Delivering Growth: An update on the Waraba & North Harbour PDAs event, where property and development leaders came together to share valuable insights into the future of Waraba and North Harbour Priority Development Areas (PDAs).    Ruth Stokes from Economic Development Queensland outlined EDQ’s planning approach, including the Interim Land Use Plan, Infrastructure Funding Framework, and Development Charges and Offset Plan and noted the recent declaration of the North Harbour Marina PDA. Following on, Bryan Finney from North Harbour Holdings discussed planning realities within the PDA, highlighting key opportunities and challenges for industry and the community.   We were proud to be a sponsor of this insightful event and would like to thank UDIA Queensland for hosting an informative morning, and the speakers for sharing their expertise and vision for the future growth of the Moreton Bay region.

Building Connection. AVID’s Vantage Hervey Bay Sets a New Standard for Community Living. On Queensland’s Fraser Coast, a new kind of neighbourhood is taking shape, one that’s built on more than bricks and mortar. In just under a year, Vantage Hervey Bay by AVID Property Group has grown into a vibrant pocket of coastal life. Fifty-one homeowners (and sixteen pets) have already moved in, with another sixteen set to arrive before Christmas, all drawn by the same thing: a simpler, social, and sustainable way to live. At the heart of it all sits the soon-to-be-completed Clubhouse, delivered by Hutchinson Builders, featuring a pool, gym, sauna, walking trails, and landscaped gardens. But what it really represents is connection. “The Clubhouse will be the beating heart of Vantage Hervey Bay,” says AVID’s Anthony Demiris. “It’s about creating spaces that build friendships and resilience.” With more Australians looking for lifestyle and affordability in regional areas, AVID’s land lease model shows how thoughtful design and strong partnerships can redefine what community living looks like, especially for our ageing population. This is smart, future-focused development that blends social inclusion with quality construction, and it’s a great reminder that the future of building isn’t just about delivering homes, it’s about delivering belonging. • Meet Josh Barak, one of our Development Managers in Victoria. Joshua has been a part of our AVID team for the close to five years and plays a critical role in bringing our Victorian communities to life.  Keep reading to learn more about Joshua below.   ◼️ What does your day-to-day look like? My days are generally jam-packed, consisting of meetings with stakeholders, site visits as well as a lot of co-ordination across the projects that I work on. There is also some reporting, which needs to be attended to and financial management across the projects. There isn’t a single day that looks the same in my world as a Development Manager!   ◼️ What gets you jumping out of bed in the morning? Despite not being a morning person, I have slowly trained myself to become one over the years (with the help of some coffee). I am extremely motivated about doing the best job that I can, whether it be in my work or personal life and strive to deliver the best results for my projects and for the business as a whole.   ◼️ What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? To treat my projects as if the cash was coming in and out of my own personal bank account. This advice has stuck with me for 10 years and I still regularly draw on this mantra.   ◼️ What have been your career highlights? Seeing my projects come to life – all the way from acquisition stage through to titles and settlements and having the amazing residents move into the communities I have had the privilege of delivering.   ◼️ What’s one thing nobody knows about you? I used to have a fear of dogs growing up but now I am overly obsessed with them.

  • Get to know Hana Moore, Senior Project Marketing Manager and valued AVID team member since 2017. Hana plays a key role in bringing our AVID project stories to life – find out more about what inspires her below: ◼️ What does your day-to-day look like? Most days are spent collaborating closely with our project teams. I enjoy balancing the creative with the operational – turning ideas into action and making sure everything we produce delivers impact, connection, and results. ◼️ What gets you jumping out of bed in the morning? Right now, it’s our new puppy Birdie. She’s a bundle of energy and has completely taken over my mornings! ◼️ What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? “The way you do anything is the way you do everything”. That advice has always resonated with me. It’s a reminder that care and consistency matter. ◼️ What have been your career highlights? Seeing the projects I’ve worked on gain recognition at a national level. But even more meaningful is seeing the long-term impact of our work, from strengthening project positioning and creating more engaged communities, to contributing to a marketing function that is recognised as a strategic driver of the business. ◼️ What’s one thing nobody knows about you? Few people know that I enjoy four-wheel drive adventures and long weekends exploring the beaches of Moreton Island, Stradbroke Island, Double Island Point, and K’gari. It’s my way of disconnecting and appreciating the natural beauty of Queensland.
