It is a piece of writing which focuses on
factual and straight forward content and
technical papers are published to inform,
instruct, and educate the user about some
specific topic.
It uses less complex and straight forward
language, easy to comprehend explanations
and instructions.

How is Technical Writing Different?
The information is organized, presented and
communicated in a specific format.
The writing is concise, clear and accurate.
The writing takes into account the audience’s needs,
biases and prior understanding.
The writing presents information to help readers solve
a problem or gain a better understanding of a situation.
The writing conveys technical, complex, or specialized
information in a way that is easy for a non-technical
reader to understand.
Technical Vs Expository Writing
TW often relies on gathered data while EW
provides proof to promote an argument to
be true, or it exposes information to
persuade others.
EW is more creative, expressive, and
opinionated, while technical writing is
more on providing data and presenting
facts from data.
