Client side scripting and server side scripting

- 5. SCRIPT A script isa program or sequence of instructions that is interpreted or carried out by another program rather than by the computer processor.
- 6. SCRIPTING LANGUAGE A programminglanguage Supports scripts, programs written for a special run-time environment. It can interpret and automate the execution of tasks. It can alternatively execute tasks one-by-one by a human operator.
- 7. SERVER SIDE SCRIPTING Server side scripting is used to connect to the databases that reside on the web server. Server side scripting can access the file system residing at the web server. Response from a server-side script is slower as compared to a client-side script because the scripts are processed on the remote computer.

- 9. ADVANTAGES It does notrequire the user to download plug-in like Java or Flash (client-side scripting). Your scripts are hidden from view. Users only see the HTML output, even when they view the source.
