Making Better Decisions

Recognizing our journey towards a more sustainable business practice.

We are humbly moving forward on our quest to design better products and take them to market in a more responsible manner. From our Eco packaging initiatives, our “No plastic” policy, our emerging “Positive Change Range” or our new Warehouse solar installation, Weatherdon is adapting to the needs of our planet and those of our customers, one better decision at a time.

Two thirds of a product’s eco-footprint is determined and locked in at the design stage.

Stressing the importance of Reduce/Reuse/Recycle is great but it relies on others doing what they can to compensate for a product designed with little consideration. It comes down to making sustainable behaviour someone else’s responsibility. Too little, too late.

We are actively driving positive change with our manufacturing to bring better products to market in the first place. Replacing plastic with paper, substituting polystyrene for moulded pulp and generally stripping the packaging down to a minimum.

At the scale of our business, even a tiny 2gr strip of plastic wrapped around an electric cord adds up to almost 400Kgs of plastic that never enters the country, let alone our oceans…each year!

Whilst many of our competitors are having to invest in colourful eye-catching packaging to stand out on shelf, we are not a retail brand and can focus our energies on the user when it comes to designing better products and look to the planet when it comes to the packaging, bringing real value where it matters.
