As an advertiser, you can create a new campaign from the Campaigns tab in Campaign Manager. When you create a new campaign, you can set a status, schedule, or total budget for the campaign which act as limits for all the ad sets placed in that campaign. After you create a campaign, you can select it when you create a new ad set to organize related ad sets together. If needed, you can edit the campaign settings, including the name, status, schedule, or total budget.
Campaigns are available for both Classic and Accelerate ad set types, and you can have a campaign that contains only Classic ad sets, only Accelerate ad sets, or a mix of Classic and Accelerate ad sets.
Important to know
To create a new campaign:
-
Go to your ad account in Campaign Manager.
-
Click Advertise on the left menu.
-
On the Campaigns tab, click the Create
button and select Campaign from the dropdown. -
On the Create Campaign page, enter a campaign name. The name is only visible in Campaign Manager.
-
From the Status dropdown, select Active or Draft.
- Active - Ad sets placed in your campaign can start displaying ad impressions immediately, depending on the start date of the campaign and ad set.
- Draft - Ad sets can be placed in the campaign but won’t start displaying impressions until the campaign has been activated.
-
Under Campaign Objective, select one objective for all ad sets in the campaign. By selecting a single objective for all ad sets, you can take advantage of Dynamic Group Budget.
- The Campaign Objective toggle is turned on by default. Turning off Shared Objective means that your ad sets won’t benefit from budget optimization.
-
Under Campaign Budget & Schedule, turn on the Budget Optimization toggle to automatically and continuously find optimal auction opportunities for your campaign’s objective.
- Once you turn on Budget Optimization, you can set a daily or lifetime budget, select a bidding strategy, and set a schedule. Maximum delivery is the default and recommended bidding strategy. Manual bidding isn’t available for Accelerate ad sets.
- If Budget Optimization is not turned on, the ad sets in your campaign won't have budget optimization applied to them. You can choose to have ad sets in the campaign run continuously from a start date or set a start date and end date, with or without a budget.
-
Click Create & use in new ad set to create the new campaign and go to the first step of creating a new ad set.
