More energy efficiency resources are on their way, Colorado! ⛰️ VEIC is excited to share that the Denver Regional Council of Governments has selected our experts to lead a new $60 million energy efficiency incentive and advising program that will help over half the state lower their energy costs. Together, we will also be delivering a $6 million Innovation Pilot Program to fund grants that test new technologies and approaches to building decarbonization. Read the press release: https://lnkd.in/efE5B6A2 Both programs are part of Power Ahead Colorado, which provides home and building owners with a trusted path to healthier, safer comfort through right-sized equipment, expert advising, vetted installers, and rebate support. The 59 member governments that make up DRCOG serve more than 3 million people, including half the state’s low-income and disadvantaged communities. Special thanks to our partners Brendle Group and Group14 Engineering, PBC, which will bring local expertise to help support the initiative’s community-centered approach. Most federal home energy tax credits expire at the end of 2025. To help homeowners maximize their savings and take advantage of incentives while they still can, The Wall Street Journal turned to VEIC’s CEO, Rebecca Foster, for advice. Federal incentives on home efficiency upgrades like heat pumps, water heaters, and electrical systems are helpful, but Foster assures homeowners that tax credits may not be the only way to save. Foster encourages folks to explore local energy rebate programs to find more incentives like those often provided by their utility, which can be combined with federal offers for greater savings.
