Jake, Chase, and Carson are software engineers — and diehard pilots — who finally got to fly ALIA for the first time. The fly-by-wire system they’ve been building is the digital backbone behind our rapid progress in autonomy, giving us precise control laws and a huge stream of data from real-world flights, the iron bird, and subscale testing. The Ironbird Boys are pushing our company and this industry forward every day with their work.

About us
BETA Technologies is creating an electric transportation ecosystem that’s safe, reliable and sustainable. A relentlessly focused team is building an extensive charging infrastructure and ALIA, the world’s most technologically advanced electric vertical aircraft (EVA). BETA’s platform and products are strikingly simple. Prioritization of safety and a pragmatic approach to certification drive elegant redundancy, appropriate diversity of implementation and simplicity of control. ALIA’s fixed-pitch propellers and centrally located batteries make it an inherently stable aircraft that is safe to fly and easy to maneuver.

We've partnered with Abu Dhabi Airports to begin powering electric aviation in the Middle East. ⚡ Earlier this week, we commissioned our certified Charge Cube and Thermal Management Systems at Al Bateen Executive Airport. This is the first site in Abu Dhabi Airports’ vertiport network across the emirate and is live and operational for both aircraft and ground vehicles right now. Next up: Zayed International The UAE joins the U.S. and Canada as the third territory with BETA Charge Solutions — the critical first step in enabling a functioning AAM ecosystem.
We are taking significant steps toward enabling the infrastructure required for eVTOL deployment in Abu Dhabi. In partnership with BETA TECHNOLOGIES, we have completed the installation of the UAE’s first eVTOL charging station at Al Bateen Executive Airport (AZI), a major milestone in enabling the future of electric air taxi operations across the emirate. This achievement follows a series of successful flight tests conducted at both Al Bateen Executive Airport (AZI) and Al Ain International Airport (AAN) using the Archer Midnight aircraft. As part of the wider ecosystem supporting a connected network of vertiports in Abu Dhabi, we continue to work closely with leading global partners to advance the systems, facilities, and capabilities that will shape the future of next-generation mobility and integrate eVTOL operations into the aviation landscape.

BETA is building out autonomous capabilities with Near Earth Autonomy. “Increasing our autonomy capabilities will deliver even greater optionality to operators, including faster speed, higher payload, longer range, and optional piloting,” said Shawn Hall, BETA’s Chief Revenue Officer. “In order to meet the demands of the defense and civil sectors today, mobility platforms must be smarter, more flexible, and ready to operate where traditional systems can’t. Recent announcements from the Department of Transportation and Department of War both point towards the accelerated fielding of autonomous aircraft. We are excited to be at the center of this effort with both civil and military customers.” https://lnkd.in/e7WUiWS7

Human factors are a big part of what makes BETA's ALIA feel natural to fly. Tyler P. , human factors engineer and ALIA pilot, makes sure every pilot who steps into the cockpit is working with controls, displays, and gear that are intuitive, simple, and built for real operations. Tyler’s work keeps the aircraft easy to use and pilot-forward, from layout to workload to overall cockpit flow and communications. Good human factors aren’t an add-on for us - they’re core to how we design, test, and build aircraft that pilots trust and love to fly.

We love it when BETA leaves the nest. In the past week, our aircraft have flown in Norway, New Zealand, and now out West in the United States, barnstorming San Francisco. Electric aviation is real, and when we fly, we are not only exposing more people to this industry, we are running real world, high cadence routes. From coast to coast, baby. 🤘

Today in Dubai, we signed an agreement with e-Smart Logistics the purchase of up to 20 ALIA CTOL aircraft to support express, e-commerce, medical, and aircraft on the ground logistics across the EU and UAE. This partnership builds on a big year for BETA aircraft. From flying the aircraft across the EU this summer to commissioning a certified Charge Cube and Thermal Management System in the UAE this week, we’re demonstrating how electric aviation can integrate into real-world operations on multiple continents. BETA aircraft will help e-Smart deploy cleaner, faster, and more reliable air logistics in two critical regions. It’s another step forward in proving what electric aircraft can deliver for customers, communities, and the future of transportation.
