Google's AI Mode reset will fundamentally change search. Traditional SEO focused on driving traffic with keyword rankings. Now, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is emerging as a critical new discipline. Join Dale Bertrand as he unveils GEO case studies, showing companies generating conversions from ChatGPT. Focused on ChatGPT AI overviews and Google's AI mode, he'll dive into data from the healthcare industry showing a 40% traffic loss but a 60% increase in conversion rate from AI search. Don't choose between SEO and GEO. Use both strategically. Your brand visibility and conversion rates depend on it. Key Takeaways: - Apply both SEO and GEO as complementary marketing tools - Shift from keyword targeted content to semantically relevant content - Measure visitor quality and customer acquisition, not organic traffic - Educate your leadership on the emerging value of GEO as a complement to SEO - Ditch keyword research and mine online communities for micro-topics

We recently analyzed the data of over a dozen digital health sites to figure out what’s working, what’s not, and how brands should adjust to the new age of patient acquisition via AI search. Our key findings: - On average, AI search has eaten up 40% of organic traffic - BUT organic conversion rate increased by 60% YoY - As a result, total organic conversions remained essentially flat The takeaway? Healthcare publishers are getting hit hard, but digital health providers (anyone who cares about conversions, not just traffic) still have a huge—largely untapped—opportunity in AI search. Check out our full analysis and our Digital Health GEO Playbook (link in comments). Are you also seeing major organic traffic hits? How about conversions? What’s worked for you as you’ve begun deploying AI-focused strategies?
Just about every digital health growth leader I talk to asks me the same question: “What do we need to do to show up in AI search?” It’s time the industry has a good answer. So, we spent the past three months putting together the most comprehensive guide to date on AI search for the digital health industry. We looked at data for over a dozen digital health sites, analyzed the trends, and used them—as well as hands-on experience with our clients—to put together a (free) actionable playbook for marketers in the space. (Link in comments) I’m incredibly proud of the work our team did; I truly believe that our findings and recommendations are valuable for any marketer struggling with how to think about AI search. The market is drowning in generalized SEO advice and alarming speculation. We wanted to cut through the noise and provide real, data-backed answers for the industry. The goal: Provide digital health growth leaders with a custom-built, actionable playbook for navigating this tectonic shift in the digital marketing landscape. Included in the guide: 1) proprietary data analysis revealing the impact + accelerating rate of adoption of AI search 2) benchmarks for AI traffic volume and conversion rates for digital health brands 3) suggested timelines and prioritization for Generative Engine Optimization (“GEO”) spend relative to SEO & other channels 4) techniques for understanding how your audience (ICP) is already using generative AI search, and how those trends are evolving 5) the most comprehensive, actionable GEO playbook specially built for digital health marketers The link to the piece is in the comments. Big thanks to our collaborators for their help! Kyle Marshall, Thought Starters Ben Lee, Minari Michael Punzalan, Saltwood Labs I’d love feedback! Let me know what resonated—and what additional questions this raised. Looking to put out more like this in the future; what should we cover next?

SEO is dead. GEO is the future. Fire&Spark's Dale Bertrand just sat down for a conversation with O3 —a world-class digital experience consultancy — for some Gen AI search myth-busting and insight-sharing. The numbers don't lie: • GEO delivers 3x higher conversion rates than SEO • 73% of businesses struggle with AI search unpredictability • Companies see 40%+ increases in qualified traffic with GEO But here's the kicker: Most brands are doing it wrong. The secret isn't technical. It's content strategy. Stop thinking keywords. Start thinking semantic space. AI wants comprehensive, semantically rich content that covers topics AND adjacent concepts. The measurement game has changed, too: • Out: Traffic metrics • In: Conversion, engagement, and visibility Focus here now: • ChatGPT optimization (primary traffic driver) • Google's AI Mode (coming as default Google experience in 12-18 months) The playbook is still being written. First indications show that the early movers will win big. I'll drop the link to the full conversation in the comments below.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲! We analyzed 400+ telehealth brands to identify the biggest SEO winners of 2024-2025. Some companies saw traffic growth of over 1,340%. Others? They're about to lose it all to AI search. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲: → Resilience Lab: 1,340% traffic growth → Oshi Health : 860% growth → Midi Health : 829% growth + 409% conversion keyword growth 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀? Quality beats quantity every time. No SEO hacks. No shortcuts. Just relentless focus on content quality, site experience, and leveraging real medical expertise. Women's Health, Chronic Disease Care, and Mental Health dominated the growth charts. But here's the plot twist: even these high-performers are sitting ducks for the AI search revolution. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵: Most telehealth brands are optimizing for traffic when they should be optimizing for patients. As ChatGPT and Google's AI Mode steal more search traffic, the companies still playing yesterday's SEO game will watch their growth evaporate. The 2026 winners are already adapting. They're turning SEO into a patient acquisition engine, not just a vanity metric generator. Want the full analysis and see how your strategy stacks up? I'll drop the link to our complete Telehealth Twenty report in the comments.

Traditional SEO is failing as AI search transforms how customers find brands. Marketers continue optimizing for keywords while AI platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI Mode use semantic relevance to surface brands in conversation. 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 • Build SEO content with semantic relevance optimization • Develop cross-platform SEO content that appears in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Mode • Shift from page-level to passage-level optimization and measurement • Create SEO content that surfaces as "unsolicited advice" in AI conversations • Distinguish between performance SEO content for direct response marketing and brand content for brand awareness
