Annual scheduling is on the rise, and it’s changing higher education for the better. A new piece from Wendy Kilgore in The EvoLLLution, “The Shift Toward Year-Long Academic Planning,” explores how institutions are rethinking the traditional term-by-term model to support efficiency, flexibility, and student persistence. The article builds on findings from a joint AACRAO–Ad Astra study that revealed a major shift: 63% of institutions now practice—or aspire to practice—annual scheduling.
