ULI Melbourne Young Leaders Group (YLG) recently hosted an enriching masterclass with Jeremy McLeod, Design Director Breathe Architecture and Co-Founder Nightingale Housing on 30 October, expertly moderated by Ali Whelan (Design Lead & Senior Associate, Breathe Architecture). 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁: • A clear brand value proposition opens doors to new business and opportunities. • Maintaining professional integrity builds trust and strong relationships, even when it means turning down some jobs. • Career progression is non-linear; mentorship and adaptability are essential, even during slower growth periods. • Learning by doing, with a willingness to take risks and question norms, can lead to innovative outcomes. • Jeremy’s journey from early challenges to founding Breathe Architecture provides comfort and inspiration for those early in their career. • Driving change often requires going beyond traditional roles and pushing through bureaucratic barriers. • The most impactful mentors are those who invest time and care in you as a person, not just as an employee. Thank you to everyone who attended and to our sponsor, Breathe Architecture, for making this event a success! See you in our next event!
