From vision to reality: a walk through the Perth City Link story. Last Friday, our team of urban designers and planners marked World Town Planning Day (8 November) with a walk through DevelopmentWA's Yagan Square, a great example of how thoughtful planning can connect people, transform cities, and leave a lasting impact. Led by TBB's Director of Design, Ben De Marchi (the Design Lead for Perth City Link), we explored the story behind one of Perth’s most significant regeneration projects — one that reconnected the CBD and Northbridge. Between 2005 and 2015, TBB led the master planning and visioning that shaped this bold transformation, creating the framework for Yagan Square, Kings Square, and the surrounding precincts. In keeping with this year’s theme, “With Planning We Can!”, the walk was a reminder of the power of good planning - to improve lives, strengthen communities, and shape sustainable, thriving cities. Here’s to thoughtful planning, enduring places, and the teams who bring them to life. 💛 #WorldTownPlanningDay #WithPlanningWeCan #UrbanDesign #PerthCityLink #YaganSquare #TBBPlanning #ProjectHighlight #ConnectingPeoplePlaceOpportunity DevelopmentWA City of Perth

Big milestone for the Exmouth community! Sundrift Estate is being released within the Exmouth Marina, offering a range of new housing opportunities, local parks and employment opportunities. Working with Celsius Land and the Fowler Group, TBB Planning coordinated with the team to guide a rezoning, subdivision approval and, in consultation with government and the Shire, a pragmatic framework for subsequent development. This project has been an important team effort and required close collaboration with the Shire and DPLH to optimise the way forward, to help accelerate housing supply in the town. It is also an exemplar that demonstrates how the challenges of land development in remote regional towns can be made to work for the private sector. Congratulations to everyone involved: Celsius Property Group | Fowler Group | JBS&G - An Independent Accredited Environmental Consultancy | Oversby Surveying | PLAN E Landscape Architects | Porter Consulting Engineers | PTG Consulting | Western Environmental | Nocterra #PlanningWA #RegionalDevelopment #SundriftExmouth #TBBPlanning #UrbanDesign #RegionalHousing More on Sundrift Estate here: https://lnkd.in/ghZedm5R

What does it mean to truly walk together - to listen, learn, and connect beyond the work we do every day? Earlier this month, our TBB Family Day gave our team and their families the opportunity to spend a Saturday together on Wadjemup (Rottnest Island). Guided by Aurora Abrahams and her daughters, we explored the island’s history and its deep cultural significance — learning how Wadjemup connects to Aboriginal communities across WA. This experience formed part of our Reconciliation Action Plan journey, offering a moment to walk, share and reflect together - to connect in a truly meaningful way. Thank you to Aurora and her family for their generosity, knowledge and care. A day of learning, reflection and sunshine we won’t forget. We do this with heart 💛 #TBBPlanning #LifeAtTBB #Reconciliation #Wadjemup #RottnestIsland #CultureAndCommunity #PlanningWithHeart #PerthPlanning TBB Planning

At the northern edge of Western Australia, the historic port of Wyndham is writing its next chapter. It’s a story about heritage, tourism and community. Recently, Senior Associate Katherine Shirley and Associate Cassie Barrow took their IAP2 engagement skills north to support community consultation for the Wyndham Historical Port Precinct Revitalisation project. Working alongside the Kimberley Development Commission and Pracsys Economics, they spent time listening to locals, gathering stories, aspirations and ideas to help shape a plan that honours Wyndham’s history while opening new opportunities for tourism, business, community and cultural connection. By reimagining the port as a place to visit, explore and stay, the project will help attract new investment, revitalise local spaces and celebrate what makes the port truly unique: its people, its history, and its enduring sense of place. A project like this takes a collective effort. We’re lucky to be part of a talented team shaping the future of Wyndham's Historical Port: TBB Planning (community engagement); Pracsys Economics (economic analysis and investment strategy); Colliers (infrastructure analysis); and Peter Hobbs Architects (urban design and architecture). #CommunityEngagement #RegionalWA #Wyndham #EastKimberley #TBBPlanning #PlanningWithHeart #PlaceMaking #PeopleAndPlace #EngagementWithPurpose #heritage #tourism #shappingWA

What a brilliant night at the Urban Development Institute of Australia (WA) Awards for Excellence last week! 💫 Congratulations to all the winners and finalists for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in our industry. TBB Planning was proud to once again sponsor the Masterplanned Community Award — a category close to our hearts. Big shout-out to Ellenbrook by Satterley Property Group and DevelopmentWA for taking home the win. Ellenbrook isn’t just a place on the map — it’s now home to nearly 25,000 residents, many young families, with high amenity, open spaces, and infrastructure that connects people and community. We were also excited to see OneOneFive Hamilton Hill take home the Affordable Housing Award. TBB is proud to have played a role in shaping and planning this outstanding community, which is setting new benchmarks for affordability and quality living in WA. And of course, the UDIA Awards are always a great excuse to glam up — our team looked pretty sharp! Thanks to UDIA WA for hosting another fantastic evening. 👏 #UDIAWA #AwardsForExcellence #TBBPlanning #MasterplannedCommunities #Ellenbrook #AffordableHousing
