Where are all the sea turtles coming from🐢!? ☝️This time of the year the mating season for marine turtles at the Ningaloo Coast is in full swing. We were lucky enough that Karen one of our locals was able to witness hundreds of turtles gathering in the shallows for this annual event. How impressive and positive is this sight👀, thanks for sharing Karen💪. 📖Between November and March the females will then lay their eggs which hatch about 60 days later, these are predominantly Loggerheads, Green, and Hawksbill turtles. On their migration south loggerhead hatchlings take the Leeuwin Current as kind of a conveyor belt to travel. Come winter they reach our Southwest Coast line from Perth to Esperance. 🌊Beachgoers often find washed up baby turtles along our beaches and if found in time we rehabilitate them in our JBS&G Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre. You can visit our two resident turtles Treasure & Squirdle in the Marine Discovery Centre daily from 9am - 3pm and learn all about their exciting lives and watch them getting fed twice daily. Would you like to do more and support this life saving program!? Why not adopt our Turtle Program https://lnkd.in/dhUq3qmX and help us save an endangered species, also a wonderful gift idea for a loved one💕. A special Thank You to our Partner & Sponsor JBS&G - An Independent Accredited Environmental Consultancy for supporting this program 👍 (https://www.jbsg.com.au/). @followers #seaturtles #marineturtles #loggerheadturtles #endangeredspecies #seeaustralia #WAthedreamstate #australiassouthwest #lovebunbury #thingstodo #animaladoptions #exceptionaloutcomes #waparksandwildlife
