This week, twenty team members from across our organisation gathered for the inaugural session of The Scentre Group Book Club. Hosted by our Board Director and Chair of our Risk & Sustainability Committee, Margie Seale, the Book Club attendees explored Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist—a story chosen for its universal themes of purpose, courage, and the pursuit of dreams. Margie shared: “Books have the power to open minds and start conversations that change how we see the world. “The Book Club is about creating space for those conversations, by bringing together team members from across our business to connect, reflect, and learn in an inclusive setting.” Michael Diakomichalis, Project Architect, said: “Guiding us through the evening were acclaimed cultural commentators Sophie Gee and Jonty Claypole MBE, whose global perspectives and creative energy helped spark expansive discussion. “The session really affirmed how energising it is to explore ideas with others. Sharing perspectives sparked fresh connections and a genuine sense of curiosity and belonging.”

This year, 17 leaders from across our business completed our 2025 Female Leadership Program. A key initiative developed to build a future leadership pipeline that reflects the diversity of our customers and communities, our Female Leadership Program focused on impact, influence and executive presence. Last week, the 2025 program culminated with conversations between participants and members of our Board over an intimate boardroom lunch. For Djazia Ladjal, Principal Data Scientist, the program was a journey of self-discovery: “The Female Leadership Program has helped me realise what true leadership means. “It’s not about following frameworks or rules but leading with purpose, empathy, and confidence from within. “It was an honour to share lunch with our Scentre Group Board. This highlights their personal investment in the program which I am very grateful for. Our discussion on AI, fulfilment, and life balance - including the reminder to prioritise health and family - was both grounding and inspiring. “This is a truly unique initiative, and it was a privilege to be part of it.” Congratulations to our 2025 Female Leadership Program participants: MELISSA TAYLOR, Kelly Rusbridge (née Temple), Connie Kontogiannis, Milena Hopkins, Trish Dullard, Tilney Lewis, Lisa Maxcey, Ilyse Connery, Emily Hunt, Elisha McGrath, Courtney Owings, Djazia Ladjal, Kate Jones, Hannah McEwan, Hilda Toe, Nazneen Azher, Natalia Semenova.
