Today we celebrate National Mining and Related Industries Day to recognise the essential role of these industries in Australia 🇦🇺 Mining companies pay more tax in Australia than all other industries combined. Without this contribution, Australia would be very different and our record debt, and your taxes, would escalate. Australian mining has never before faced such an unfavourable operating environment – one littered with increasing regulatory burdens, delayed approvals and soaring energy costs, declining productivity and international competitiveness, and massive expenditures to be wasted because of the “green incinerator“ that do zilch to help our productivity or competitiveness! Amongst other serious problems. In stark contrast with more favourable regimes such as in the USA, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, and several countries in Europe that make welcome investment and development in the mining and related industries. Today is a reminder that we must speak up for our essential industries, which have delivered high living standards for decades, but now according to the Minerals Council of Australia, 80 percent of the future pipeline of mining projects have been cancelled. Many of those earning their living from the fossil fuels industry, now have their jobs at risk. And lessening the fossils industry which have provided low-cost reliable electricity over decades, building extra infrastructure such as thousands of kilometres of transmission lines for green-based unreliable energy, and importing huge expensive flammable batteries, will have the result of higher electricity prices for everyone. National Mining Day founder, Mrs Rinehart said: “Today is not only a day of pride for our essential industry. It is a day to remind Australians everywhere of the massive contribution to Australia that we make, bigger than all other industries combined! "Without a significant mining industry, we would not have the high paid jobs, nor the hospitals, roads, bridges, airports and defence that we rely upon. Nor be able to provide for our pensioners, veterans, tertiary students, or pay for our nurses and police to the extent that we do. "This is the central truth of our nation: mining is the backbone of Australia, mining builds Australia, mining gives us better standards of living, while the anti-mining far left and adding extra government tape and regulation, would see us poorer and weaker. "Just imagine: how much more would have been possible to provide, if mining projects hadn’t been delayed or cancelled, thanks to excessive government tape, long delayed approval processes and bad government policies. "Great policies don’t come from the Canberra bureaucracy far removed from the realities of our industry, today is a call to action! “When mining does well, Australia – and Australians – do well! But if mining doesn't do well, nor do Australians.” Watch this year’s speeches from National Mining Day founder Mrs Rinehart and patron Tad Watroba below!

Today is National Agriculture and Related Industries Day, a day that celebrates those who form the backbone of Australia! 🇦🇺 Established by our Executive Chairman Mrs Gina Rinehart, this day recognises the vital contributions of farmers and pastoralists and others in the agricultural industry. It is also a time to recognise the thousands of businesses, many small and family owned, that rely on agriculture succeeding. To achieve this, we need the right settings in place to support agri-business free of red-and-green tape, soaring energy costs, rising taxes and the increasingly heavy and impossible burdens associated with net zero. Through Hancock Agriculture, we proudly deliver iconic Australian brands Driza-Bone, Rossi Boots, S. Kidman hats, boots and clothing, S.Kidman pies and our world-leading 2GR Wagyu to customers across the country and around the world, showcasing the best of what Aussie agriculture has to offer and providing jobs in one of the country’s most important industries. Celebrating the day, Mrs Rinehart said: “Our farmers are among the most efficient and environmentally careful in the world. Farmers are more than just food and fibre providers; they are central to our history and our DNA. “As much as anything, today exists to remind us all to be proud of our pioneering ancestors, to defend this national inheritance, and to protect it for the sake of our children and grandchildren. “Agriculture is essential to the national economy, is essential for our future, and it is central to our national identity and indelible to the history and fabric of my family. “We can be very proud of being farmers and pastoralists, but we must also stand up for agriculture and defend it. We need our city politicians to stand up for those in the bush, not pretend or lie that they do. “Our pioneers sure had it hard. It’s on their shoulders we can stand. Let’s not see our farmers and pastoralists disappear because we did not stand up and help them fight.” Watch patron Mrs Rinehart’s and co patron Tony Seabrook's speeches for National Agriculture and Related Industries Day 2025 below!

We will remember them Today, at 11am, staff at our West Perth headquarters paused to reflect and give thanks for the courage, selflessness and sacrifice of all Australians who have served in the defence of our great nation. In particular, we remembered the more than 103,000 Australian military personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice and commemorated 107 years since the Armistice of 11 November 1918. We also honour the service of the many veterans who are employed across our group of companies. Our Executive Chairman Mrs Gina Rinehart AO has for decades been one of the strongest supporters of Australian veterans and proudly serves as Honorary Guardian of our veteran community through Soldier On Australia. Lest we forget.

Work hard, seek the truth, deal in facts and always stand by your convictions 💪 These were some of the wise words our Executive Chairman had for high school students this week as they take their Year 12 exams and prepare for life’s next steps. Mrs Rinehart also reminded students that a university degree isn’t a guarantee of success — some of Australia’s most successful people built their achievements without one. 🎙️ Listen: https://lnkd.in/gDDdA4TZ With thanks to Ben Fordham, 2GB Sydney
