Calix has executed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) with Rio Tinto to provide over $35 million of value for the Zesty™ Green Iron Demonstration Plant in Kwinana, WA. This agreement marks a major milestone in progressing the demonstration and future commercialisation of the #Zesty technology for low-emissions iron and steel, supported by strong collaboration between industry and government. 📣 Calix and Hydro partner to develop Zero Emissions ALumina (#ZEAL) Calix is delighted to be partnering with Norsk Hydro, a leading global aluminium and renewable energy company, to develop electric calcination for near-zero emissions smelter-grade #alumina. Together, Calix and Hydro aim to develop designs to apply the ZEAL technology in integrated and scalable electric alumina calcination systems. A materials testing program at the Calix Technology Centre using feedstock from Hydro's Alunorte refinery, a pre-FEED study and a collaborative technology development program is designed to develop and demonstrate the viability, efficiency and scalability of the ZEAL technology for commercial alumina calcination.
