Thank You, Valia! Last Friday, we farewelled Valia Palmer as she retired from her role as our ACT State Manager. Valia has been an incredible part of the Burgtec story in Canberra. Her dedication, professionalism, and passion for creating meaningful client relationships have left a lasting mark on both our team and the ACT community. We’re deeply grateful for everything she has contributed during her time with us, and we wish her all the best in this next chapter. Looking ahead, we’re pleased to welcome Mauro Vecchi as our new ACT State Manager. Mauro is a highly experienced professional in the commercial furniture industry and brings a wealth of knowledge and energy to the role. We’re excited to see him continue the great work Valia has built, supporting our clients and partners in Canberra. Last week, Burgtec attended the official opening of Western Sydney International Airport (WSI), joining Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Federal Minister for Infrastructure Catherine King, and project partners from Western Sydney International Airport, Multiplex, Woods Bagot, Cox Architecture, and Zaha Hadid Architects to mark the completion of the major construction packages for one of Australia’s most significant infrastructure projects. This milestone brings the airport one step closer to its official opening in late 2026. Burgtec delivered an innovative, bespoke furniture package tailored to the needs of this world-class facility. Designed for durability in a high-traffic environment, the furniture also reflects the architectural vision of the terminal. A warm, earthy colour palette was chosen to highlight key design features and connect the interior to the Western Sydney landscape — from the rust-red soils of Badgerys Creek to the native bushland leading toward the Blue Mountains. As an Australian manufacturer, we’re honoured to support projects of national significance and contribute to the growth and future of Western Sydney. Stage 2 of the City of Gold Coast Council office refurbishment is complete. Delivered in partnership with SHAPE Australia and Bearspace Studio we supplied a bespoke furniture and workstation package across the first six floors- featuring custom materials, powder-coated finishes, and tailored upholstery. Designed for efficiency and collaboration, the space includes open-plan workstations, meeting rooms, focus areas, and breakout spaces with stunning coastal views. With two stages complete, we look forward to the final phase in April 2025. Proud to be part of this transformative project!

Burgtec is proud to have supplied the workstation and furniture package for the groundbreaking NextSense Centre for Innovation at Macquarie University. Delivered by ADCO Constructions, this state-of-the-art facility serves as the national headquarters for NextSense, supporting over 260 allied health professionals, teachers, researchers, and specialist staff. Purpose-built with accessibility and sustainability at its core, the centre has been designed to support individuals with hearing and vision loss while fostering collaboration and innovation. Spanning five floors, the furniture supplied by Burgtec for the offices, classrooms, meeting rooms, and reception complements this vision, creating functional and welcoming spaces that enhance productivity and comfort for the staff, students, and visitors alike. Sustainability was another cornerstone of the project, targeting a NABERS 4.5 Star and Green Star 5 Star rating. We are honoured to have contributed to this inspiring project, supporting NextSense in their mission to transform lives through education, healthcare, and innovation. This year has marked signification growth for us at Burgtec and we couldn’t be happier. We were selected as the single-source furniture supplier for the new Western Sydney airport. Filled with abundant natural light and timber tones, the space results in a warm and welcoming space for staff and clients alike. The furniture has been carefully selected to enhance collaboration and productivity. Congratulations to all involved.

We’re proud to have partnered with INTREC and Willoughby City Council to transform their Victor Street offices. For the first time since the 1990s, levels 4, 5, and 6 were completely revitalized, creating a modern workplace for over 200 staff members. Our team at Burgtec delivered a tailored furniture and workstation package, crafting solutions for open-plan workspaces, private offices, meeting rooms, and breakout zones. With a focus on activity-based working, we helped bring their vision of a collaborative and innovative office environment to life. Congratulations to all involved. Sharing a project we recently worked on. Located in a heritage building in the heart of Sydney, the fit-out, designed by Allan Marshall from SAM, instills serenity through its beautiful pastel finishes, arches and curves.
