  • ✨ It was such a privilege to connect with the incredible Qantas community at their Family Day events in Sydney and Brisbane recently! Through our airline partnership with Qantas, our incredible Ambassador Dogs joined the recent Qantas Family Days celebrating the arrival of their new XLR aircraft.   Qantas is committed to working with us to improve awareness and enhance the travel experience for people living with a wide range of disabilities who rely on an Accredited Assistance Dog.   Our amazing dogs—Vyrna, Thorin, Jojo, Bravo, Tonic—and our Assistance Dogs in Training, Beau and Waffle, loved meeting Qantas staff, families, and friends. These events are a fantastic way to share how we’re working together to: ✅ Remove barriers for travel ✅ Strengthen client advocacy and experience ✅ Show the community how they can get involved through puppy volunteering   Our Ambassador Dogs: Vyrna, Thorin, Jojo, Bravo and Tonic and our Assistance Dogs in Training, Beau and Waffle, absolutely loved meeting everyone, sharing cuddles, and spending time with teams from Surf Life Saving NSW and St John Ambulance Australia (NSW) A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more and show your support for our life-changing work. Together, we’re building a more inclusive future!

  • We are delighted to share in the celebration of another successful Connections Program, in collaboration with Happy Paws Happy Hearts, and are excited about expanding this program with our Assistance Dogs in training, helping to support confidence and inclusion.

Celebrating another paw-some milestone! 🐾🎓    Last week, Happy Paws Happy Hearts (HPHH) and Assistance Dogs Australia (ADA) wrapped up our second Connections Program with six incredible participants at ADA’s Puppy Kindergarten in Waterfall.     From the very first week of introductions and meeting the adorable puppies, to building confidence, social skills and independence through hands-on learning, this group has truly flourished.     Each participant not only learnt the foundations of assistance dog training but also discovered new strengths within themselves, forming friendships, developing resilience, and finding pride in every milestone achieved across the 12-week program.     We wrapped up the program with an exciting excursion to Miranda Fair last week, where participants joined a few Assistance Dogs in their advanced training stage for a practical, hands-on experience in public handling and simulated scenarios. A huge thank you to Chris, Senior Instructor from ADA, and HPHH Program Trainer, Penelope, for guiding and supporting participants and dogs through this unforgettable experience—a perfect way to culminate the program. 💞 🐾   This week, we were delighted to celebrate the graduating participants. Penelope shared how proud she is of the entire group, reflecting on their courage to try new things and the joy that came from seeing their confidence blossom week after week.    A huge thank you to:  🐾 Penelope and HPHH Volunteer, Jo, and ADA Kennal Attendant, Leila, for your dedication, encouragement and creating such a supportive environment for participants and puppies throughout the program. 🐾 Our amazing participants, for your enthusiasm, teamwork and care toward each other and the puppies—helping them take their next steps toward becoming life-changing Assistance Dogs.    We can’t wait to see where your journeys take you next!    👉 To learn more about the program or enquire about future intakes, visit: https://lnkd.in/gB8NhG3c #ConnectionsProgram #HPHHxADA #AssistanceDogsAustralia #HappyPawsHappyHearts

  • 💜🌺 Honouring the Purple Poppy this Remembrance Day 🌺💜 This Remembrance Day, we honour the courage and sacrifice of all those who have served their country in times of conflict and the courageous dogs who stood by them, who hauled gear, delivered messages, and comforted soldiers on the battlefield. 🐾 One such hero was Digger, a bulldog who served at Gallipoli and the Western Front, carrying food and hope to the wounded in No Man’s Land. His story reminds us of the unbreakable bond between humans and dogs, even in the darkest times. 💔🐶 At Assistance Dogs Australia, we continue that legacy by training PTSD Assistance Dogs for veterans, helping them find strength, connection, and independence in everyday life. As we wear our red and purple poppies this Remembrance Day, let’s remember all who served and all who stood faithfully by their side. 💜 👉 Read our latest blog https://lnkd.in/gYag9Y7Y

  • 🎃 Trick or treat, give me something good to eat! (As long as it’s dog food, NO chocolate or lollies for us pups! 🐾) The gorgeous Pumpkin, one of our newest Assistance Dogs in training, wishes everyone a Happy Halloween filled with treats, not tricks! 👻💛🐶 (Sorry for the puppy spam — he’s just too cute! Every angle deserves to be shared!) A big thank you to our amazing Puppy Kindy team for bringing this to life with such stunning photos! 📸✨

  • See the Invisible this Invisible Disabilities Week Not all disabilities can be seen, but that doesn’t make them any less real. This week, we’re shining a light on the unseen challenges faced by people with PTSD, autism, chronic pain, and other invisible disabilities. At Assistance Dogs Australia, our specially trained Assistance Dogs provide more than companionship; they bring calm, confidence, and independence to everyday life. Let’s all remember to: - Listen with empathy - Speak with kindness - Look beyond what we see Because invisible doesn’t mean imaginary and no one should have to walk their journey alone. 👉 Read our latest blog: https://lnkd.in/gPXVB6HS
