Sensors are increasingly being used in applications and devices to replace the need for human input. Examples discussed include grocery shopping apps that change item priorities based on GPS location and music identification apps that can identify what song is playing using audio sensors. Going forward, sensors will allow for new augmented reality applications and interfaces not based on traditional screens. Interfaces are also migrating between connected devices, such as taking a phone call through the speakers of a connected car. The ecosystem around a technology, including hardware, software, and services, will be key to success moving forward as devices become more connected and share content and control.
