Team building vs Team Work
Team building focuses on the formation of groups,
while Teamwork concentrates on the function of groups; both
are vital for success
Team building helps members get to know each other better, and
become more personally and deeply acquainted
Team development helps the team grow and strengthen over
time, and/or addresses general problem areas.
Team building is fun, team development is real work

Purpose of Team Building
The purpose of any team building exercise is to build a stronger
unit of workers. Team building isn't the time to talk about
company policies or new product rollouts. It is the time to gather
your people in one place and give them a reason to interact with
each other in a non-work related way. Team building activities can
happen in the office or at an outside location but the annual picnic
isn't really considered team building in the modern human
resources environment
A full-time employee will spend over
2,000 hours with their co-workers this year alone. At
the end of the day, people want to enjoy where they work
and who they work with.

Building a Team
Team formation takes time, and usually follows some easily recognizable
stages, as the team journeys from being a group of strangers to becoming
united team with a common goal
