- #13 When you enter a room – you’ll be confronted with a room full of strangers busy in conversation – if you observe you will observe conversations in clusters of 2 or 3. its an akward moment to join any grp or conversation. But if you take a closer look – the way the groups are configured can tell you a lot about how you will be received if you approach them for example – let see on the next slide
- #14 In this slide, a closed two or three are facing inward, away from the rest of the room. They are engaged in private conversations. No matter which direction you approach from, their backs are turned to you. These groups are closed, at least for the moment. Don’t try to force yourself in..where as if you go to next slide
- #15 There groups are an open 2 or open 3, they have left open side from which you can approach them. This orientation is a welcoming configuration. The conversation is not private and that you would be welcome to join them and introduce yourself. If you watch for few minutes, you’ll see groups open and close
- #16 As you enter the room, here’s what your awareness of these cluster dynamics should be telling – groups A, B & C are close probably engaged in private conversations and not a good place to introduce yourself at the moment. Whereas groups D & E are open groups and also H is currently open
