  Maintaining Company Data InTally, the term Company represents any entity for which an independent set of Accounts is maintained. It may be a Company, Partnership Firm, H.U.F., Individual, NGO or even a Branch Office for which a set of Account is maintained. Maintaining Company Data involves the following activities.  Creation of Company.  Selection of Company.  Alteration of Company.  Deletion of Company.  Shut Company Company Info Menu provides all these above features. To get the Company Info Menu, press Alt+F3.

  To create aCompany profile in Tally, click Create Company at Company Info Menu to get Company Creation Screen. Company creation screen is divided into two main sections Company Particulars Company Base Currency Particulars. A. Company Particulars At the top part, the user must enter the following information regarding the new Company.  Directory Tally shows the current directory name to store the data under the current directory and skips this field.   Address Enter the completemailing address line by line. Press Enter and type the address in the next line. Press Enter in a blank line to terminate Address entry. The Address involves Country, State, PIN code, Telephone Number and E-mail Address.  Name: Enter the Name of the Company at Name field. This Name is displayed at all Company selection lists and Internal Reports.  Mailing Name Mailing Name appears in all External documents like Invoice, Money Receipt, etc.,

  Financial Year From Atthe Financial Year From field, enter the Beginning Date of Financial Year. i.e 1st April. Tally would close the books exactly 12 months from the date. Books Beginning From Normally, the Books Beginning Date is same as Financial Year Starting Date. So, Tally proposes the Financial Year Starting Date at Books Beginning From field. Tally Vault Password To store data in encrypted from. Opt for Tally Vault the company data. Tax Procedures The user has to give the details of the company’s tax information like Income Tax Number, Local Sales Tax Number, Inter-State Sales Tax Number. Maintain Tally provides an option to maintain (a) Accounts Only, (b) Accounts with Inventory. The user may maintain his own wish

  II. Selection ofCompany When the Tally is loaded afresh, the user is required to select the company. The user can select the Company with the help of F1 key. Then, the list of Companies will be displayed in the screen. Use the Up and Down arrow keys and press Enter on reaching the highlighted company. III. Alteration of Company At Company Alteration screen, the user may carry out necessary alteration or fill up any blank field left earlier. Press Ctrl+A to save the modified information. IV. Deletion of Company Data To Delete a company, Press Alt+D at Company Alteration Screen. A confirmation ‘Delete ? Yes or No’ appears. Type Y to confirm Deletion. The Data files of the Company are deleted. V. Shut Company Normally, the user can work with only one company. When the user wishes to change the company, the user can use the Shut Company option. The Shut Company option is available in Company Info Menu or Press Alt+F1. B. Company Base Currency Information Tally sets proper Base Currency Information. The user does not need to change any information.
