PHYSICAL COMPUTING – THE NEXT LEVEL OF WEB INTERACTION

FORWARD
TO REALITY

Forward to reality

For the past few decades we have been so focused on the virtual – on products that are
not tangible, products that reside online, that we interact with through our computers,
mobile devices and so on. But now it’s time to take a step in a different direction –
actually an old familiar direction, it’s time to reach out of our digital boxes, into the real
world and make real things but still retain that connection with the virtual world.
It’s time to merge the digital and the physical and create an internet of
things.

We believe this to be the next step in web interaction – well it's already happening – we
are merely the messengers!
“ The future is something which
everyone reaches at the rate of
60 minutes an hour, whatever he
      does, whoever he is.”
                   — C. S. Lewis
WHAT IS THE NEXT LEVEL OF
WEB INTERACTION?
The internet of things and physical computing is connecting everything and
letting you connect to and interact with everything anywhere. Today’s tech
world is mobile, tomorrow’s world is seamlessly integrated, connected,
intelligent and tangible.

What we are talking about is a blend of physical computing, embedded systems, web
apps, mobile apps, websites, games, devices etc.
“Physical computing, in the
broadest sense, means building
interactive physical systems by the
use of software and hardware that
can sense and respond to the
analog world”
                        - wikipedia
“An embedded system is a
computer system designed to do
one or a few dedicated and/or
specific functions . . .
It is embedded as part of a
complete device often including
hardware and mechanical parts.
                      - wikipedia
In the old days you needed super
intelligent engineers and tons of money
to make these kinds of systems...

. . . AND THEN CAME THE
INTERNET AND CHANGED
EVERYTHING
With open source software and hardware, low cost components, knowledge
sharing and collaboration the innovation is being democratized by
the open source communities.
The Arduino, named after the pub where it was conceived, is one of these
low cost, open source pieces of hardware. This is where it all starts. For the
humble price of 22 Euros. This little thing is jam packed with
possibilities...
Inside the package lies the Arduino, which basically is a little computer which
usually does one simple task over and over again until someone pulls the
plug.

But relax - we are not going to talk about circuit boards and all the
components, or electronics, programing or anything of the geeky stuff.
What we are going to talk about is the true magic happening
when the user’s force of creativity, sharing and collaboration
takes part.
“ The future is here. It’s just not
    evenly distributed yet.”
               — William Gibson
What if your plants could talk to you
when they were thirsty?

Now they can...

First of all, as we all know ...its not about advertising anymore, its about
engaging and interacting with your customers, its about making
unforgettable content that enrich your customers life.

Lets take a look at what some pioneers have done to take advertising to the next frontier.
