AVT PASTORAL VISITS
2025-2026
PURPOSES OF THE PASTORAL VISITS
1. To familiarize me more on the situation
of the parishes and mission stations.
2. To check on how the parishes and
mission stations have implemented the
comments from the previous pastoral visit.
3. To enable the priests and the parishioners to
open up to the bishop. This is a concrete practice
of synodality which entails openness to speak and
to listen, and dialogue for the sake of the
common mission.
4. To check on how the main priorities of the
vicariate are being implemented: katesismo,
kriska, katiwala

ACTIVITIES DURING THE PASTORAL VISITS
1) I hope to stay 3 full days and two overnights in the
parish or mission station.
2) I wish to visit at least 5 chapels during the pastoral
visit, preferably chapels that I had not yet visited
3) I can administer confirmations in the chapels or
also give talks to the people.
4) I will meet the pastoral council and the finance
council together.
5) I will check the canonical books and the other
materials that I ask to be prepared.
6) I will have a short dialogue with the leaders of
the chapels and the interested parishioners during
my visit to them. I am ready to listen to them. To
give liberty to the people to speak, the priests in
charge are requested not to be present during the
dialogue.
7) I will speak to each of the priest during the
visit.
8) My schedule of activities is to be given to me at
least one week before the visit, e.g. the chapels I
will visit and what is required for me to do,e.g.,
kumpil or other activities.
9) I will write my observations and
recommendations after the visit and these will be
discussed and acted upon by the priests and their
PPC and PFC.
