Concurrent engineering can decrease time to market and increase productivity through faster product development, better quality, and fewer engineering changes. It uses cross-functional teams that include members from marketing, R&D, design, production, and more to concurrently design products. For concurrent engineering to be effective, team members must prioritize the project over their individual departments through improved interdepartmental collaboration.
