  For 9 months prior to the games
             there was
    a continuous and sustained
stream of negative media coverage.



 Just 3 months before the games
  were due to start… many were
 questioning whether they should       India Gate
         take place or not.               Delhi

“Highway infrastructure in doubt – Highway Bridge collapses”

    “Delhi Rail Link three months behind schedule and in doubt”

         “Construction 9 months behind schedule”

                “Athletes Village is a sewerage strewn dumping site”

                        “Wild dogs roam athletes accommodation”




                         “National Teams are considering withdrawing on health and safety grounds”

                                    “Delegations meet with India Government to express concern”

                                         “With just weeks to go to the start of the games crisis talks are underway

                               negativity and doubt!
So what can we learn from our 2010?

   •  Maintain a sense of purpose and self-worth
 • Maintain our passion, drive and determination
