During our panel discussions, we explored the complexity of the energy transition. What stood out was not just the urgency, but the diversity of approaches. 💬 Every organisation moves at its own pace, shaped by its operational realities, ambitions, and constraints. 🔑 What matters is having a clear long-term vision, and the willingness to take the next step — however big or small. 📍 We also heard how visibility and local engagement are essential to build trust and accelerate progress where it matters most. 🤝 And that collaboration — across sectors, roles, and perspectives — is what turns ambition into action. A great day of industry insights and conversations for the Shell team at Congres Laadinfra '25, a leading eMobility event in Arnhem, The Netherlands, yesterday! Thanks to everyone who joined us there 🙏  We explored how SBRS GmbH (a Shell group company) is helping to build an integrated and collaborative charging network to accelerate the electrification of Europe’s heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) fleets. With such fleets currently responsible for 6% of the European Union’s (EU’s) total greenhouse gas emissions, electrification is key for heavy-duty fleets to meet the new stringent targets being set by the EU to reduce this. We’ve had an amazing time at #bauma, the world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery, alongside Komatsu Europe. Our conversations with customers at the event have highlighted interesting insights about how the construction sector can drive #fleet electrification forward, just like the public transport sector has in the past. Richard Buss shares his takeaways from the event: 👉 #Construction is making progress with #electrification (and the ambition is there), but they need to know their new equipment can at least maintain their current levels of operational efficiency. 👉 Equipment charging is a crucial factor in equipment efficiency due to its impact on reliability. The challenge for many businesses is that they can’t guarantee a stable grid connection at every site – and this is why businesses are keen to work with suppliers who can help them overcome this challenge. Many are excited by the potential for mobile charging to unlock new electrification opportunities for them. 👉 No one company could address the grid challenges alone. Collaboration is essential and we’re proud to be working closely with Komatsu on this – sharing expertise and insights as part of our agreement to deliver mobile battery chargers for its PC210LCE-11 electric crawler excavator. Ultimately, our collaboration with Komatsu demonstrates our ability to support any and all heavy-duty fleets with charging solutions that help them to decarbonise while maintaining their performance.
