A polyethylene supplier that is dedicated to Making the Experience Matter by putting our customers needs first.

About us

(Real)ationships start here. Nope, not a typo. It’s a world where you’ll whisper “that went well” after a supplier call…and actually mean it. It’s an account manager listening to your unique business needs. It’s our answer to the supplier status quo you might be used to and a pinky promise that we’ll do better. In short? (Real)ationships are built on trust and transparency, bringing your big ideas to life and—above all else—being real. To learn more, visit https://us.polymers.shell.com/realationships-start-here

Ten years ago, Shell began one of the largest construction projects in the US since World War II which has culminated in our Shell Polymers facility. With the help of state and local officials, neighboring communities, and more than 9,500 workers at peak construction, we turned a 100-year-old lead and zinc smelting site into the world-class manufacturing facility it is today. As we reflect on the journey, we are thankful that we can now provide high-quality polyethylene to converters all over America! Here’s to the future of working with our customers, community, and every member of our team to Power Progress Together!

  • 5-layer, 7-layer, 9-layers, and beyond! The multilayer extrusion revolution has the potential to introduce revolutionary levels of performance, convenience and efficacy in film manufacturing. But with 80% of North American film lines still operating traditional monolayer systems, it’s a revolution that might pass us by, if operations don’t transform in pace with technology. At a time when ambitious #sustainability targets are table stakes, converters are increasingly under pressure from their customers to reduce plastic use while maintaining performance. Shell Polymers is here to collaborate with converters on reducing total plastic usage without sacrificing quality by leveraging: - Technical Expertise: work side by side with our polymers experts to help optimize formulations and redesign your packaging through downgauging, lightweighting, and thin walling - Polymer Choice: choose from a range of #polyethylene options, including virgin polyethylene, ISCC PLUS certified circular polyethylene that utilizes pyrolysis oil sourced from recycled post use plastic, or lower-carbon polymers - Real-world Testing: trust in Shell's commercial-scale processing equipment, labs, and Application Hall at our Innovation Center for testing, validation, and collaboration Learn more about how Shell Polymers can help support your sustainability goals with innovative plastic reduction opportunities: https://lnkd.in/eTrBaBzr

  • This past week, Rory Hunter, Sustainable Products Policy Advisor at Shell Polymers, spoke at the PLASTICS (Plastics Industry Association) Sustainability Executive Forum in New York about a key #recycling challenge: the lack of national standards. While state-level extended producer responsibility laws can help boost post-use material recovery, improving recycling rates also requires developing resilient end markets. To bridge this gap, we need national standards, supported by advanced #recycling systems that bring recovered materials to market efficiently and at scale. Learn how smart policy can help accelerate the recovery of end-of-life plastics and drive a more #CircularEconomyhttps://lnkd.in/eRUaHNnP

For November, the #ResinGradeoftheMonth is HDPE 65N8! With great stiffness and durability, it's no wonder 65N8 sees so much use as injection-molded crates and containers on farms and in agriculture. It may have played a part in getting delicious fruits and veggies to your table for Thanksgiving this year! Curious about more ways to use our polyethylene? You can learn more about HDPE 65N8 and our other resins with our product selector! https://lnkd.in/epfzjwM7

  • Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are some of the most useful polymer processing aids (PPAs) in plastics – but the chemical properties that make them so useful also mean they are hard to break down in the environment. Accordingly, there is growing pressure on converters to replace PFAS with alternatives. However, embracing these PFAS-free PPAs demands new equipment – and partners that can help you make the switch with ease.   Learn more about switching to PFAS-free PPAs, with Shell Polymers: https://lnkd.in/e9QKSQqD

  • The path to more #sustainable outcomes looks different for every business. Moving toward a #circulareconomy with #advancedrecycling is one way to make strides. Shell Polymers offers ISCC PLUS-certified circular polyethylene, helping to bring circularity to applications where it was once out of reach, including those requiring high performance and regulatory compliance. Beyond feedstocks, circularity extends to other aspects of the product lifecycle. We collaborate with converters to create solutions that minimize material use, perform reliably, and are designed for recyclability – all to help the end customer meet their #sustainability goals. • Are drop-in resins too good to be true? The idea of switching in new resins on existing equipment is certainly appealing; and drop-in resins do have a critical role to play in creating more flexible plastics manufacturing processes.   However, that’s not to say it’s as easy as putting a new battery in your remote control, or screwing in a new lightbulb. Indeed, running the quality of resulting products can be impacted by a wide range of factors – swipe the carousel below to learn more.   Learn how to embrace drop-in resins: https://lnkd.in/dkqsUrjB
