There's no better way to really understand the challenges in aviation and what aviation can offer than to interact and learn from aviation leaders and professionals who are passionate about their work. This is what the inaugural ICAO-Singapore Youth for Aviation (YFA) Programme set out to do – bringing together 36 youths who love aviation from across the Asia-Pacific region to Singapore and immersing them in the Singapore aviation ecosystem. The YFA participants caught a glimpse of the latest developments in the industry, engaged in high-level discussions, and gathered ideas to advance aviation in their own States. 🌏✈️ A big thank you to our local aviation students for being a huge part of the YFA Programme as they befriended and guided the participants through various activities and made lasting friendships. #YFA #YouthForAviation (International Civil Aviation Organization | Temasek Polytechnic | Institute of Technical Education | Singapore Polytechnic | Singapore Institute of Technology | Republic Polytechnic)

✈️🚁 Transforming Asia’s Transport Future – Reflections from Super Terminal Expo & Low Altitude Economy Forum 2025 🌏📦 I had the privilege of attending the Super Terminal Expo 2025 and the Low Altitude Economy Forum today on behalf of the Aviation Services Research Centre (ASRC). A dynamic convergence of visionaries, innovators, and policymakers shaping the future of intermodal transport and urban air mobility. 🔹 Super Terminal Expo 2025 showcased over 120 global brands and welcomed 6,000+ professionals from aviation, logistics, infrastructure, and technology sectors. With keynote speeches from leaders like Fred Lam (Airport Authority HK) and Mable Chan (Transport & Logistics Bureau), the event emphasized Hong Kong’s strategic role in regional connectivity, especially with the Three-Runway System and seamless intermodal services linking the Greater Bay Area. 🔹 The Low Altitude Economy Forum x AWN AAM Awards 2025 was a standout addition, spotlighting the rise of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and drone logistics. From vertiport concepts to regulatory sandboxes, Hong Kong is positioning itself as Asia’s epicenter for low-altitude innovation. The forum brought together OEMs, regulators, and investors to explore scalable infrastructure and transformative business models. 💡 Key Takeaways: • Intermodal transport is no longer a future concept, it’s happening now. • Low-altitude economy is unlocking new dimensions in logistics, emergency response, and urban planning. • Cross-sector collaboration is essential to build resilient, sustainable transport ecosystems. 👏 Kudos to Aviation Week Events, and all supporting organizations for curating such a forward-looking platform. Hong Kong is clearly stepping up as a global hub for transport innovation. #SuperTerminalExpo2025 #LowAltitudeEconomy #UrbanAirMobility #IntermodalTransport #HongKongInnovation #Aviation #SmartLogistics #FutureOfTransport

Istanbul Airport's journey from opening in April 2019 to becoming Europe's busiest international airport within just five years showcases a powerful model of strategic planning and operational excellence. The seamless 33-hour transition from Atatürk Airport demonstrated meticulous coordination and a strong public-private partnership led by the İGA consortium. With an innovative operational model and a leadership culture embracing a startup mentality, Istanbul Airport quickly capitalized on its prime location connecting Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Its technological edge includes being the first in Europe to implement simultaneous triple independent runway operations, boosting capacity and on-time performance. Handling over 76 million passengers in 2023 and setting a European daily passenger record in July 2025, IST balances high volume with exceptional service. The airport’s diverse team and customer-first philosophy have earned it accolades, including the Air Transport Awards' World's Best Airport title for four consecutive years. Today, Istanbul Airport is focused on maturing its business processes and expanding capacity, aiming to maintain its global leadership position while offering travelers a seamless experience. #IGA #Istanbul #AviationExcellence Read more: https://lnkd.in/eA2uQ2ZX

Sydney Airport’s Master Plan 2045 is more than runways and terminals — it’s about people, equity, and the future of aviation. By 2045, Sydney expects: → 72.6m passengers → 385k aircraft movements → $70.6b economic contribution → 559k jobs supported But growth alone isn’t the story. To stay ahead of Western Sydney International (WSI), opening in 2026, we must compete not just on infrastructure — but on culture, sustainability, and inclusion. Here’s my vision: → Representation matters — diverse leadership teams drive innovation. → Inclusive design — terminals built for accessibility, cultural sensitivity, and passenger wellbeing. → Equity across the value chain — inclusive procurement, skills development, and economic opportunity. → Community & reconciliation — partnering with First Nations communities as co-designers of our future. Airports are where the world meets Australia. They must reflect the diversity of our society and passengers. That is how Sydney Airport can maintain its position as Australia’s #1 international gateway, even as WSI enters the scene. The airport of the future won’t just be bigger — it will be fairer, greener, and more connected to people. 👉 How do you see DEI shaping the next generation of aviation hubs? #aviation #sustainability #dei #leadership #future2030 #sydneyairport #westernsydney

I was pleased to be in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 today to announce a new sustainability partnership with Alex McGowan, COO Cathay Pacific, the Cathay Group Inc, designed to accelerate the development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production in Asia and beyond. Through this partnership, Airbus and Cathay Pacific will invest up to USD70 million to identify, evaluate and invest in projects that support the scaling of SAF production towards 2030 and beyond. These projects will be assessed based on their commercial viability, technology maturity, and potential for long-term offtake. With Asia having a strong potential in feedstock supply, production capacity, and a vibrant aviation market, this means Airbus and Cathay Group can leverage on each other’s experience to help shape policies that enable SAF to be more accessible and affordable in the region.
