Yesterday, Minister Catherine King officially opened the Woolworths Group Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) at Moorebank Intermodal Precinct – a key part of Woolworths Group’s $1.3 billion investment in transforming Australia’s supply chain. The Moorebank precinct connects road and rail – linking Sydney, Port Botany and the Hume Highway – and is home to two world-class facilities: ✅ RDC: Moving 2.8 million cartons weekly to 300+ stores ✅ NDC: Moving 2.5 million cartons weekly to 1,000+ stores With 5-star Green Star ratings, solar panels providing 25% of NDC’s electricity, and initiatives cutting emissions by 35%, Moorebank is setting a new standard for sustainability and resilience. This investment has already created 1,300 construction jobs and 800 operational roles, attracting diverse talent into logistics and STEM careers. Moorebank isn’t just infrastructure, it’s the backbone of a smarter, greener supply chain. #SupplyChain #Infrastructure #Sustainability #JobsOfTheFuture #Moorebank
Christmas is coming, and Woolworths Group is getting ready for the rush with a new Primary Connect distribution centre in Sydney. The new distribution centre makes the most of road and rail connections at Moorebank Intermodal Precinct, a precinct mapped out by former Infrastructure Minister Anthony Albanese. Companies are now moving in, and freight is moving from roads to rail. Labor Governments build things, and the long term, sensible planning we do sets Australia up for success for years to come.
