Transforming lives, one task at a time.

About us

Taskrabbit is a marketplace platform that conveniently connects people with Taskers to handle everyday home to-do’s, such as furniture assembly, handyman work, moving help, and much more. Acquired by IKEA Group - the world’s largest furniture retailer - in 2017 At Taskrabbit, we want to make your neighborhood a little more familiar. Whether it’s a handyman (or woman!), a housecleaner, moving help or delivery person, we’re imagining a world where everyone will have a go-to team to make everyday life easier. As a company we celebrate innovation, inclusion and hard work. As a pioneer of the sharing economy, Taskrabbit was founded on the premise of neighbors helping neighbors. Since then, our network has grown to eight countries and 75+ cities, yet our core mission of creating a better everyday life for everyday people has remained the same. Together with IKEA, we’re creating more opportunities for people to earn a consistent, meaningful income on their own terms by building lasting relationships with clients in communities around the world. We are a group of mission-minded people. Our culture is collaborative, pragmatic, and fast-paced. We’re looking for talented, entrepreneurially-minded and data-driven people who also have a passion for helping people do what they love - and have a ton of fun while they’re at it.

  • Ten San Francisco Taskers recently visited TNDC, a non-profit organization that provides affordable housing and services to low-income residents, to brighten their spaces. New furniture donated by IKEA San Francisco was assembled, artwork was hung, and various other tasks were completed in over 30 rooms to help everyone feel confident in their space.

  • We’re so proud of Taskrabbit for Good’s continuing partnership with Samusocial de Paris, a non-profit organization focused on helping homeless people in vulnerable situations, providing shelters, healthcare, and reintroduction to society. A Paris Tasker, Sebastian, has been leading this effort twice a month for over a year, sharing his construction expertise and teaching hands-on skills. During our last session, Sebastian and crew built a table, two composters, several small wooden objects, and repaired two workbenches. Sebastian's work extends past physically constructing materials; he has increased participants' confidence and fostered self-sufficiency through workshops designed to put their skills to use. Amazing work, Sebastian!

At Taskrabbit all-company meetings, CEO Ania Smith has taken to instituting what she calls a “Nailed it, Failed it” segment. She asks her executive team—and encourages other employees—to publicly share their biggest flops, particularly when it relates to experimenting with AI. Smith was one of four C-suite executives Fortune spoke with at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington, D.C. last week on a panel about women redefining work in the age of AI. Encouraging employees to experiment with AI—and giving them permission to fail along the way—was a big theme of our conversation. When it comes to sharing the stories of things that haven’t gone according to plan, Emma Chalwin, Workday’s chief marketing officer, encouraged business leaders to “get more comfortable being uncomfortable.” “Vulnerability is a superpower,” she said. “As long as you don’t continue to make the same mistakes over and over again, but you learn from the opportunities and you share what you’re going to do differently moving forward, it makes a huge difference to the team.” When pilots or trials with AI tools fail, added L'Oréal CHRO Stephanie Kramer, leaders should focus on why humans are needed in order to fix it. In a time where women are adopting AI tools at a 25% lower rate than men, Pinterest’s Chief People Officer Doniel Sutton (she/her) advises her female colleagues to lean in. Often, she said, women employees are disproportionately given mundane, administrative tasks. AI can help get that “office house work” done quickly, and free women up for higher-potential swings. Scaling Trust and Safety at Taskrabbit 👷♀️ This afternoon, students jumped feet first into a lively conversation on building trust within a customer base featuring Ben Edelhart, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer at Taskrabbit, together with moderator and Faculty Director, Professor Stavros Gadinis. 🐇At University of California, Berkeley - School of Law, values is one rabbit hole we don’t mind falling into. Ben dove into his legal team's daily conversation: starting first and foremost with product value for both the customer and the independent contractor (Tasker). 🐰The audience's ears perked up at talks of varying state regulations, as well as the EU laws which crucially shape Taskrabbit's business model. Mitigation of risk is essential for the legal framework at hand, optimized to boost participants' faith in the platform. The best in-house counsel takes away all surprises for the business—after 21 years of experience, Ben advises aspiring lawyers to stay grounded in the big picture: in practice, this means being able to digest lots of information and apply it to a challenging issue efficiently. Endless appreciation goes to Ben Edelhart for leaving us with pivotal insights on navigating the contractor marketplace as a legal professional! #BerkeleyLaw #RiskMitigation #ProductValue

This week, Amazon unveiled its new AI-enabled Alexa+ devices, providing consumers access to automated services from brands like Taskrabbit. • We had so much fun partnering with fashion brand Tanner Fletcher on their New York Fashion Week show, "Re-Decorating." Taking place in a "living room," five NYC Taskers played a critical role during the performance — setting up the runway space by doing what they do best — hanging wallpaper, mounting art, and moving furniture. We were thrilled to be a part of such a creative, unique show!
