  • Congrats to Ryan Smith! Ryan just wrapped up a challenging search: Director of Sales for a growing 3PL focused on produce shipping. The company had been searching for over 6 months and even came close to making a hire — until a last-minute counteroffer changed everything. The challenge? Finding a sales leader who not only knows transportation and 3PL… but who actually sells into produce suppliers. That niche experience is rare. That’s where our network and process step in. We help clients find: ✔ The right person ✔ With the right niche expertise ✔ Who can actually say “yes” to the opportunity (many of you know how key this is) Thrilled for our client — and even more excited for the candidate stepping into this role. If you’re struggling to fill a specialized supply chain or logistics role, let’s talk. #LifeWorkSearch #3PLcareers #SupplyChainCareers

  • As we near the close of 2025, we are reflecting on this challenging year and what it has meant for business and careers. We dug back into our archives and found several poll questions that we’d like to ask again, to see how tides have changed.     We are asking, “What is the top supply chain concern for the 2025 holiday season?” Winter is coming to the USA, typically a booming time for consumer goods and services. What stands out to you as most different this year, compared to last?    #LifeWorkSearch #SupplyChain #2025poll

  • “Let’s be clear — the job market is tough right now.”    That’s how Jason Breault summed it up in a recent post, and we couldn’t agree more. There are fewer open jobs than job seekers for the first time in over four years, and labor churn is down, meaning fewer people are moving, fewer opportunities open up, and wage growth slows.    It’s a challenging time, but not a hopeless one. Candidates who focus on clarity — what they truly want, where they can add value, and how to stand out — still find their next great role.    Read Jason’s full perspective here: https://lnkd.in/eMaxJHn7     #LifeWorkSearch #JobMarket #BLS #CareerAdvice

I've talked with a lot of candidates this summer who are citing frustration with the current job market. Let's be clear - the job market is tough right now. This article sums it up perfectly: - For the first time in 4+, there are fewer open jobs than there are job seekers. To put that in perspective, the job openings to candidates looking for a job ratio hasn't been this low since the beginning of COVID when a ton of people got furloughed! - Labor churn is down. The uncertainty in the market due to the trade war and geopolitical conflicts have a lot of companies, and employees working for those companies, on edge. Candidates are concerned about leaving their current companies and being the new kid on the block during uncertain times. Labor churn helps to drive up wages and creates opportunities for a broader range of workers to enter the market. Unfortunately that's the opposite of what's happening right now. The next BLS unemployment data comes out tomorrow. Most economists (and this recruiter) expect the numbers to be a bit of the same. https://lnkd.in/ejYsG6GK #LifeWorkSearch #BLS

  • Are you missing important calls because of your phone's settings

I'm working with a candidate that missed his job interview! This candidate has been out of work for a bit and is actively looking for a new role. He took the time to prepare for the interview, BUT his phone was set up to screen calls from numbers that were not in his Contacts list. The call went to voicemail. By the time the candidate was alerted to the voicemail, it was too late. Bad first impression. Make no mistake, the pendulum has swung and companies are back in the driver's seat. They certainly feel there are plenty of options for each job posting to have to chase candidates. Therefore, this is my PSA to remind candidates that are actively job searching to consider taking off their auto phone screeners. It might just help you get your next job! #LifeWorkSearch #Hiring

  • “If you wait to network until you need to, it would be too late.” — Jason Breault    One of Jason’s most enduring lessons: networking is not a transactional act, it’s a long-term investment.    The best professional relationships are built on trust and consistency — just like the recruiter who placed two candidates this year that he first met over a decade ago.    Build your network before you need it. You’ll thank yourself later.    #LifeWorkSearch #Networking #CareerGrowth #RecruiterAdvice

  • Here’s a tip from recruiter Kelly Lafferty, CPSP that might surprise you: skip the cover letter.     “Cover letters are repetitive. Spend that time making sure your resume is up to date, has the right key terms, and clearly shows your accomplishments.”     A well-written resume is your best cover letter. It tells your story through results, not repetition.     #LifeWorkSearch #ResumeTips #RecruiterInsights #CareerAdvice

  • “We hire for attitude and train for skills.” — Jason Breault    Technical ability gets your resume read. Attitude gets you hired.    Jason shares that the candidates who advance aren’t always the most experienced — they’re the ones who demonstrate curiosity, initiative, and the drive to learn fast.    In today’s tight job market, that mindset isn’t just a plus — it’s the differentiator.    #LifeWorkSearch #CareerAdvice #Hiring #AttitudeMatters
