Celebrating our September TopDoc: Dr. Stephanie Hill, DVM! Every month, we look back at the month before to recognize a veterinarian whose care, compassion, and dedication truly stand out. For September, we’re proud to honor Dr. Stephanie Hill, a small animal general practitioner at Swann Animal Clinic in Amarillo, Texas. Dr. Hill’s lifelong love of animals has shaped a career devoted to patient care, mentorship, and strong client relationships. From helping resolve challenging medical cases to teaching 4th-year veterinary students, she brings both skill and empathy to her work every day. In her honor, HappyDoc has supported Hope Lives Here, an organization that pairs shelter dogs with veterans with PTSD and traumatic brain injuries, helping transform both human and canine lives. 💙 3,276 appointments recorded with HappyDoc — and countless lives impacted. Congratulations, Dr. Hill, and thank you for the care you bring to your patients, their families, and your community.

Visits are down. Client gaps are getting longer. And even the most dedicated clinics are feeling the disconnect. It’s not that clients care less — it’s that everything around them has changed: rising costs, busy schedules, and a growing sense of “Is this visit really necessary right now?” At HappyDoc, we’ve been looking at the data behind this trend, and it’s real. But so are the ways clinics are adapting: ✅ Smarter, more personalized client outreach ✅ Better visibility into missed or declined care ✅ Systems that reduce after-hours work and improve rebooking AI can’t fix everything. But it can help teams see what’s working, where clients are hesitating, and how to support care that sticks. We broke it all down in our latest blog: https://lnkd.in/efffYusn

We recently welcomed Liz, our new Customer Success Manager, to the HappyDoc team! With over a decade of experience as a veterinary technician, she’s seen firsthand the challenges of burnout in the profession. That experience has fueled her passion for supporting the people behind great medicine — helping ensure they can get home for dinner, make space for family, and sustain a healthy work–life balance. HappyDoc felt like a natural fit for her because it shares those values: giving time back to veterinary professionals so they can focus on what matters most. Outside of work, she shares life with her family, including her two dogs, Roxy (an 8-year-old Carolina dog) and Lincoln (an 8-year-old boxer/lab mix). Please help us welcome her to the team (even if she’s already at home here 🐾✨)!

Veterinary care is getting more expensive and more complicated. Prices are up nearly 6% over the past year, and more than half of pet owners say they’ve delayed or skipped care because of cost. But cost isn’t the only issue. Clients also want to understand what they’re paying for — and feel confident it’s worth it. And that’s something clinics can address. Try: 🟡 Offering clear, tiered care options 🟡 Building payment flexibility into everyday workflows 🟡 Refreshing how preventive care is explained and delivered 🟡 Using data to catch declined services and communication gaps 🟡 Supporting teams with tools that reduce after-hours work Learn what’s driving this shift in client behavior and how clinics can respond with better communication, flexible tools, and smart operational design: https://lnkd.in/ed2y_t45

Psychological safety means your team feels comfortable speaking up, asking questions, owning mistakes, and sharing ideas without fear of judgment. You can feel it when people talk openly, ask for help, or admit when something’s wrong. And you notice when it’s missing when things get quiet, tense, or disconnected. It’s one of the strongest predictors of team health, and it directly impacts care. In our latest blog, we explore how to build this kind of environment in a clinic, what signs to watch for, and how small changes (including the right tools) can make space for trust to grow. 👉 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/eV5EXtPD

Transforming vet clinics with AI isn’t just about knowing tech — it’s about knowing pets. 🐶🐱 That’s why we think the best AEs come with a pack of their own. Meet Jenna Quisenberry, our Account Executive. With a background in dog rescue and a house full of furry “advisors,” she brings the same passion for animals to every clinic she works with. Because if you’re going to trust someone with your time (and your tech), shouldn’t they also know what it’s like to be covered in fur?

Metrics get a bad rap in vet med. We get it. Nobody wants to feel like they’re being tracked, timed, or tallied while trying to care for patients. But that’s not what good data looks like. Good measurement clarifies. It shows where systems are under strain, not where people are failing. At HappyDoc, we think data should feel more like a flashlight than a magnifying glass. → Are handoffs between techs and vets taking longer than expected? → Are clients nodding politely, then skipping care? → Are notes still open at 9 p.m.? When metrics live in dashboards (not inboxes) and spark collaboration (not stress), they actually make teams stronger. 👉 Learn how to make it happen: https://lnkd.in/eDkkmwvq

Three ways data can uncover operational risk Most clinics track patient care. But what about the systems that deliver it? Operational risk doesn’t always look dramatic; it hides in 1. Handoffs that aren’t smooth 2. Care that’s declined or dropped without follow-up 3. Burnout that hides in after-hours work and subtle tone shifts in notes These don’t seem like emergencies. But over time, they add up. In our latest blog, we share three areas where the right data can help uncover risk early, before it leads to burnout, confusion, or lost revenue. 👀 Read the full post: https://lnkd.in/eTqyFtVr
