This year's 17th annual Turkey Tuesday, organized by Mesa's Engineering Department in partnership with United Food Bank, was a huge success. Despite the rain, our community showed up to donate, and this was the best year yet! We surpassed our goals with more than 1,600 turkeys donated and over $34,000 collected to support families in need this holiday season. A sincere thank you to our community members, volunteers and local businesses who stepped up to make this impact possible.

When our community is in need, our employees step up. Thank you to our City of Mesa Transportation Department for lending a hand at the United Food Bank earlier this week. The Transportation team makes an effort to give back to our community a few times a year, including volunteering at Foster 360, Feed My Starving Children, and House of Refuge, as well as supporting the City of Mesa's selected charity of the year through the City of Mesa Employee Community Spirit Program. Public service is at the core of what we do, and volunteering is one way our employees can further that cause!

The Mesa City Clerk’s Office plays a vital role in keeping our city running smoothly, but one lesser-known fact is how much fun and creativity their team brings to the workplace! Each year, they host a no-carving pumpkin decorating competition and invite other City employees to stop by and vote. This year’s winner was a giant red M&M with custom-made Nike Jordan's. Traditions like this boost morale and showcase the innovative, team-oriented spirit that makes Mesa such a great place to work. Kudos to all of the entries!

Starting November 3, 2025, City Hall will use a limited-bag policy during public meetings. Bring either a clear bag (≤ 12″×6″×12″) or a small bag/clutch (≈ folded 8.5″×11″, max 8.5″×5.5″). Larger non-clear bags won’t be admitted. Medical/infant items are allowed upon a visual check. Mesa does not use X-ray machines—this keeps entry fast and efficient on council nights.
