    Driving talent outcomes globally

    𝐄𝐠𝐠𝐬. 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐭. For years, the corporate hiring playbook was simple: cast the widest net (and get someone else to cast it for you).  Companies handed roles to multiple recruitment agencies to ensure they had maximum reach across the talent market. The goal? Get the best candidates possible, as fast as you can. Fast-forward to today, and we’ve seen a major shift. Many businesses have moved in the opposite direction, centralising talent acquisition through a single internal talent acquisition team with a view to reducing or irradiating agency fees. One vacancy, one channel. It’s cost efficient, lower risk and better controlled. You’re probably expecting me to find fault in the internal talent model, not least given Kite’s 20 years as an external talent partner? Quite the opposite. Some of the best work we have done in recent years has been to help clients build and enhance their internal talent functions to be truly market leading. Getting great at driving direct hiring is the future of talent attraction. If you’re not already looking at it, you should be. Sure, there are natural limitations to the model, it is by its very nature, single channel; and your eggs are firmly laid out in your own basket. There are also question marks about rapid scalability. However, all of this is solvable. There are tools, techniques and business processes that can turn a cost saving initiative into a truly high calibre, successful formula. It may be a basket, but it's a winning one.   • Yesterday’s charity bake sale was a sweet success - all in celebration of Pride Month! 🏳️🌈🧁 A huge thank you to everyone who baked, donated, bought (and ate!) the incredible cakes and treats. Thanks to your generosity, we raised funds for Pride’s Unity Fund, supporting grassroots LGBTQ+ causes across the UK. We’re proud to stand together this Pride Month - and even prouder of some of our team's ability to bake (what felt like) 12 different styles of banana bread!!     Emotional intelligence isn’t fluff. It’s a commercial advantage. Pausing before pushing. Listening before speaking. Asking before assuming. People in sales are often pressured to ignore these instincts. Yet, so often, if you demonstrate the ability to behave appropriately once you have a foot in the door - it's the reason people want to work with you again. In my experience, high emotional intelligence is the foundation of a commercially beneficial relationship that will stand the test of time.
