🚀 LAUNCHED AT COP30: The Resilient Agriculture Investment for net-Zero Land Degradation (RAIZ) Accelerator   RAIZ means “roots” in Portuguese - the roots that sustain us and are under threat from climate change. The #RAIZAccelerator is a global effort to map and mobilize funding for the restoration of degraded farmlands worldwide. It offers a quadruple win for climate, biodiversity, food security, and the fight against desertification.   Here’s how RAIZ will drive impact: ✅Map degraded landscapes to prioritize investment An interactive mapping tool will enable accurate analysis, directing funding to areas with the greatest potential for productivity gains. ✅Identify investable restoration solutions and assess financing needs Governments will be supported to evaluate scalable restoration opportunities and prepare a Farmland Restoration Finance Assessment outlining costs, returns, and funding gaps. ✅Design co-investment mechanisms RAIZ will convene investors to co-create finance vehicles that leverage public finance to de-risk private investments and reduce the cost of capital. ✅Foster collaboration and knowledge exchange Lessons from national experiences will be consolidated into case studies and guidance to strengthen global peer learning and improve enabling conditions for restoration finance.
