All countries bear the impacts of climate change. National Adaptation Plans, or Naps, are a key means by which countries can chart a path for reducing their vulnerability to these impacts based on solid evidence. Naps facilitate the integration of climate change adaptation into policies and across sectors. And crucially, Naps can help attract finance to implement countries adaptation priorities. The Scala climate change program, which FAO Co leads. With the UN development program has supported more than a dozen countries in formulating and enhancing their naps, Co designing solutions that help strengthen resilience and now Scala has gone further, putting together a detailed analysis of agrifood systems and naps, considering 62 country and 19 sectoral naps using a rigorous FAO methodology to identify financial, technical and policy gaps in the plans as well as unique opportunities highlighted from major. Adaptation gains and Agri food systems as parties fine tune a new package of global adaptation indicators, FAO renews its pledge to support countries to formulate and implement ambitious naps and particular with least developed countries who are most at risk.
