  • Numerous celebrations are underway as we countdown to the 40th anniversary of the opening of #TheStarGoldCoast - a now iconic entertainment precinct which was originally a caravan park and opened as Jupiter's Casino and the first in Queensland on November 22, 1985. Guests, partners and members of the community joined team members, including those who have been with The Star for the full 40 years for a cake cutting spectacular of a four-tier masterpiece crafted by our talented pastry chefs, to mark this remarkable milestone. The Star Gold Coast is proud to continue its investment and play its part in the city’s ongoing story and development.

  • We are proud to support the jobs economy in New South Wales highlighting careers in the tourism and hospitality industries. Recently we hosted 200 NSW Careers Advisors at #TheStarSydney for our Career Advisors’ Expo — a dynamic and inspiring event designed to showcase the diverse career pathways available to students across New South Wales. Advisors were treated to guided tours through our property, including behind the scenes, followed by an engaging presentation. We shared insights into entry-level opportunities across departments such as Gaming, Food & Beverage, Hotels, Security, and more. Here’s what we heard from the attendees: This event reflects our commitment to building strong relationships with schools and positioning The Star Sydney as an employer of choice for students preparing to enter the workforce. A huge thank you to our incredible team who made this event possible — from project leads and facilitators to our tour guides, guest panellists and security supervisors. Together, we’re helping shape the future of hospitality and entertainment careers. #TheStarSydney #CareerAdvisorsExpo #EmployerOfChoice #HospitalityCareers #Teamwork #FutureTalent #TakingGoodCare #BuildMemorableConnections

We saw enthusiastic participation from across all areas of our business — including Warehouse, Housekeeping, Stewarding and of course Culinary. Events like these remind us of the creativity, camaraderie, and positive culture we’re proud to foster. Congratulations to the winners who stood out for their carving's originality and intricate details and thanks to all for their pumpkin participation. Happy Halloween!

  • Deserved recognition for our talented and hard-working hospitality team with Sokyo at #TheStarSydney awarded one hat in the prestigious The Sydney Morning Herald annual #GoodFoodGuide. According to the review: "This celebrated favourite at The Star delivers. Executive chef Daniel Kwak may have taken the reins from the founding chef but the artistry and commitment to pristine produce remains right across the pick-n-mix neo-Japanese menu." Jason Alcock, General Manager Food and Beverage said, “This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to our incredible team, who exemplify passion and dedication to their craft, as well as guest excellence and our industry. "The Good Food Guide Hats are highly esteemed in the industry, and I could not be prouder of the entire Sokyo team.”
