Today I had the privilege of attending a Wear it Purple Day event hosted by Pride In Resources. As a CKSC employee in the resources sector and a board member of Rainbow Families, I was honoured to share my personal story. I spoke about the importance of representation and the need for legislative decisions made today to reflect the inclusive future we want to build for the next generation. Introduced by Matthew Kimball (Rio Tinto) and hosted by Wayne Gellately (Rio Tinto), my panel speakers included Fiona Hedley (Worley/Pride In Resources), Alyce Schotte (Pride in Diversity) and Kimberley (The Pinnacle Foundation). Events like this remind me of the power of visibility and community. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with others across the industry who are also committed to fostering safer, more inclusive workplaces, and a more equal society for all. Let’s keep the conversation going. Let’s keep showing up. Let’s keep shaping a future we can all be proud of. #WearItPurple #PrideInResources #RainbowFamilies #InclusionMatters #FutureGenerations #CKSC #Sodexo #BHP #RioTinto #Worley #ThePinnacleFoundation #LGBTQIA

June marks the start of #PrideMonth and we’re proud to show our support. We’re committed to building an inclusive culture where everyone feels they belong, can be themselves and thrive. Diversity makes us stronger—and we’re learning every day how to better support our LGBTQ+ colleagues around the world. You’ll notice our logo has changed across social media this month. It’s a small symbol of a bigger promise - to keep creating a workplace where everyone can do the best work of their lives. WE OFFICIALLY TURN 1 TODAY! A year ago, on this very important day in the LGBTQ+ calendar, a group of passionate people came together to officially launch Pride in Resources. And what a great year it’s been!! We’ve sponsored 4 of our members to abseil down 33 floors of Central Park. We’ve ’sausage sizzled’ at Bunnings. But probably the proudest moment has been marching for the first time in the 2024 Pride Parade. Thank you everyone for your time, support and friendship over the past year. We have really created an amazing space to share ideas, collorate and learn, but most of all to stand together to ensure the respect and safety for our LGBTQ+ in the workplace. Happy birthday to us!!!

  • Hi everyone, I am Fiona (Fee) the secretary of Pride in Resources, and I wanted to share a little initiative I am rolling out across my workplace at the moment. Whilst many people don a rainbow lanyard, I felt that visibility as supporters and allies of the community could be better, especially at the moment when many may be feeling isolated or vulnerable. As most people carry a laptop and water bottle around the office, I purchased these stickers so people could be more visible as someone "safe" for the community. I'm pleased to say they have already been so well received with people eagerly sticking them on their water bottles or laptops and proudly showing them off. They were not expensive, but the value of what they stand for is invaluable. Feel free to reach out to Fiona Hedley if you are keen to get some for your own workplaces, and I can send you the details.

Chief Executive Officer at Woodside Energy

Pleased to join Roger Cook, Kevin Michel MLA, Liz Ritchie and Beth Smith to announce Woodside Energy is contributing A$50 million to support upgrades to Roebourne District High School and the redevelopment of Perth Concert Hall. The education of our young people in a culturally appropriate environment which sets them up for success was a key consideration in our decision to support the Roebourne District High School upgrade. We are also pleased to contribute to the revitalisation of the iconic Perth Concert Hall, a venue that has been at the centre of much of Western Australia’s modern cultural history. Our contribution will come from our A$50 million commitment to the Western Australian Government’s Resources Community Investment Initiative (RCII).
