People from across Australia have come together to celebrate National Mining and Related Industries Day 2025. Mining is essential to Australia. It is a major contributor to national income, investment, high-wage jobs, exports and government revenues and is at the forefront of underpinning our living standards. So, let’s continue to champion our industry. Because when mining does well, Australia does well and when mining doesn't do well, nor do Australians.

Our people were on hand to show some aspiring young schoolgirls why mining rocks recently. The Inspiring Girls Careers Forum – held in the South West for the first time by the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA – showcased the career pathways, innovative technology, and diverse opportunities available to women in the mining industry. At Hancock Iron Ore, we are committed to providing support for women who are keen to pursue a career in mining.

  • This Remembrance Day, our people came together to honour those who gave their lives in service. Every year, at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, millions of people around the world pause in silence to remember the sacrifices many have made so we can enjoy life today. Lest we forget.

  • If it looks like a rock, and it acts like a rock, then it’s probably a rock. But there’s also the chance it could be Hancock Iron Ore’s ore-some mascot, Rocky. Rocky first burst onto the scene as part of our Mine Tales game – a fun and educational adventure that sees our hero travelling from West Australia’s Pilbara region to become steel. But with a big smile and boundless energy, Rocky is more than just a game character. He also brings fun, learning, and a touch of magic to make mining memorable for the next generation. So what are you waiting for? Our Mine Tales game is available now for free on both iPhone and Android devices. 🎮

  • Dale Harris, Hancock Iron Ore’s Chief Operating Officer, addressed the crowd at the Australia China Business Council Canberra Networking event in Canberra yesterday to outline how we have developed our relationships with Chinese businesses to extend beyond a transactional level.   We know progress doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when we work side by side with our stakeholders to unlock the type of agility, resourcefulness, and performance the future demands. 🤝
