Great to see our Fremantle Dockers giving back to the community! Last week, the players and coaches spent an afternoon volunteering at St Patrick's Community Support Centre, handing out refreshments and learning more about their vital work. This visit coincides with a $20,000 donation from the Fremantle Players' Community Charitable Fund, a Fremantle Foundation Named Fund and player driven initiative. Their generous donation will kick off the fit-out of St Pats new Engagement Hub, which will provide those doing it tough with access to meals, showering facilities, and vital health and dental care. #FreoFamily #CommunitySpirit #StPatricks #freodockers

What a pleasure it is to be involved in this incredible new initiative with WAM.
WAM is thrilled to announce a new initiative for young songwriters as part of the Song of the Year competition. ‘A Song for Sophie’ is an award developed in honour of local music enthusiast and artist Sophie Smith, and is possible thanks to the Sophie Smith Fund, held with the Fremantle Foundation. ‘A Song for Sophie’ is a unique, free additional category, which Song of the Year entrants under 25, can optionally enter to be judged by a specialist panel, as part of the Song of the Year Competition. The winner will receive a cash prize of $2500 and an exclusive mentoring program with a renowned local artist (mentor to be announced soon!) The judging criteria for this award will focus on lyrics that demonstrate a deep connection with human emotions, something that Sophie was passionate about. WAM is proud to honour Sophie’s legacy by developing and nurturing local talent and celebrating West Australian music. Entries for Song of the Year and ‘A Song for Sophie’ open on Monday Feb 3, 9am ⭐

In the wake of the devastating Cyclone Seroja in 2021, a group of former and current AFL players, hailing from Northampton, came together to establish a Fremantle Foundation named fund - the AFL Rams Community Support Fund. Led by Andrew Lockyer, this initiative raised over $250,000 to aid their community in rebuilding and recovering. The Fund has supported various projects to help rebuild the community including works to the local arts centre, community centre, and local school, as well as supporting sport and recreation clubs including the netball club, golf club and of course the Northampton junior football club. Today, the legacy of the AFL Rams Community Support Fund stands as a testament to the power of community and the enduring spirit of the people of Northampton.
